I loved his mother. Reminded me of my Italian grandmother, except my grandmother didn’t paint.

One of the funniest scenes: They got a near-dead guy in the trunk and she's fixing them a meal in the middle of the night.

“Goodfellas” made me hate the Mafia to the point I haven’t watched another gangster picture since; except, of course, reruns of The Godfather.

My all time favorite Italian mobster was Frank Pentangeli or however you spell it.

He had real charisma.

Joe Pesci is quite possibly, one of the top ten actors of all time. The man completely STOLE that movie. Hell, even I was scared of getting whacked.

He’s one of my favorite, too. And he’s great in comedy. My Cousin Vinney comes to mind.

One of my favorite Pesci bits is a sketch he did on Sat Night LIve where he's looking for a new pinky ring

Kind of hard to call it acting. All his characters are the same.

Lets see him do Rainman or Forest Gump or Mrs Doubtfire or Radio.

I remember Frankie bring offered canapés at the little boy's party. He thought the waiter said “can of peas.”

Frankie was an old fashioned man of simple tastes. Yet he was a scholar of the Roman Empire. And that's what compelled him to slit his wrists.

I can't really see him in The Notebook, Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars, or for that matter any other vehicle that isn't full of Italian criminals.
Oh, you mean those Italian criminal movies like My Cousin Vinny and Home Alone? Maybe his acting was so bad (in those classics) that you didn't recognize him.

19. The movie's second-to-last shot shows Pesci firing a pistol point-blank at the screen. It's a reference to the ending of the 1903 silent film "The Great Train Robbery," where one of the bandits does the same thing.

I always thought that was a reference to James Cagney. I'm sure I remember him doing that in The Public Enemy.

I can't believe none of those 25 even mention the legendary long take Copacabana Scene. I can sit and watch that shot over and over again. What Marty says in his commentary about doors opening up for Henry... the scene does such a really fine job defining the character of Henry Hill in this shot. Amazing, truly.
