Erik Jones to drive the #18 JGR car starting at Kansas: Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) announced that Erik Jones will fill in for Kyle Busch in the #18 M&M'S Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starting at Kansas Speedway on May 9, 2015. This will mark the 18-year-old Byron, Michigan native's first official NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start. "I'm pretty excited and grateful for the opportunity to drive the #18 M&M'S Toyota Camry in the Sprint Cup Series and make my debut for Joe Gibbs Racing. This is a really good opportunity for me. We are going to try to manage our expectations and if we can go out and get a top-15 run and gain some experience, that would be a great day for us. I'm also excited about representing M&M'S, a great longtime partner at JGR and such a well-known brand. I am looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the M&M'S Toyota at Kansas." At Kansas, Jones will be running a special paint scheme highlighting M&M'S support of Red Nose Day on the #18 M&M's Toyota. Mars is proud to be a partner of Red Nose Day, a major charitable event that will be held on May 21, 2015. The M&M'S Brand is one of the world's most beloved chocolate candies and a leader in colorful fun, so it's a natural fit to leverage the M&M'S brand and humor to help raise money through this partnership. M&M'S is bringing Red Nose Day to NASCAR for the first time at Kansas and May 15 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Jones currently runs full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) for Kyle Busch Motorsports and a partial schedule for Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS). Kansas will mark Jones first official Cup Series start, but earlier this season he was able to make laps in the #11 Toyota Camry at Bristol Motor Speedway after Denny Hamlin was unable to continue the race following an extended rain delay. Jones finished the race in the 26th position (which was credited to Hamlin).(JGR)(4-30-2015)

Fresh From Florida Returns to #43 Ford at Talladega: After falling just outside the Top-10 in points, Aric Almirola and the #43 Ford team hope to dodge trouble and score a good finish at Talladega Superspeedway to propel them back into the Top-10. The Florida Department of Agriculture's Fresh From Florida campaign will return to the #43 car this weekend. The campaign adorned the hood of the #43 earlier this year at Atlanta Motor Speedway.(RPM), see image of the scheme on the #43 Team Schemes page.(5-1-2015)

Watching Cup P1. Even with Kurt Busch missing Races while the Legal Carp was going on- He & Harvick have combined to Lead 48% of the Race Laps so far this Season.

6 whine broke his L/H mirror when he dropped the Window Net. Comment made about 7 years bad luck. Somebody on the Fox Broadcast Team came up with "if you take the broken mirror parts and wash them in a Southward flowing river it will negate the 7 year curse"... Any bets on he and chadcheater are searching for such a body of water?

Also they were "hinting" that Danica may not be with SHR next Season as it is Contract Time in addition to Go Daddy becoming Went Daddy.

Patrick comments on her future and GoDaddy leaving the sport: #10-Danica Patrick met with media and discussed the departure of GoDaddy as primary sponsor at the end of the year and her thoughts on a future sponsor:
Q) GIVEN THE NEWS THAT GODADDY IS GOING TO BE LEAVING, HOW DO YOU LIMIT THOSE DISTRACTIONS OF QUESTIONS ABOUT SPONSORS AND WORRYING ABOUT SPONSORS AS YOU CONTINUE TO GO THROUGH THE SEASON? DO YOU THINK THIS IS THE BEST POSSIBLE TIME FOR IT, GIVEN THE RUN OF SUCCESS THAT YOU'VE HAD IN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS?
Patrick: "It was good that GoDaddy gave us, as a team, time to find someone else for that role; either someone new or one of my great partners that already exists and wants to step-up. It's as tolerable as a situation as you can imagine. But for me, it's a little bit bittersweet. I look at pictures of me in the suit and the pictures of the car and I think about I can't believe it won't be the green GoDaddy car anymore. In fact, that's actually what I said to them on the phone. I spoke to Phil (Bienert, Chief Marketing Officer) and Blake (Irving, Chief Executive Officer) who are in charge of making those big phone calls and making those big decisions. And I said, 'Are you guys okay that you're not going to see a green car out there anymore?' That's actually what I said to them. But, on the other hand, my relationship with GoDaddy will still continue. It's just going to look a little bit different from an overall standpoint. I think we're going to continue on, obviously, with the things that I have been doing for them as of late; more smaller events and more specific events for them as opposed as just trying to get their name out there as they've said they have 81 percent brand awareness in America, so the program worked. It worked so well, that they've evolved. But I'm glad to still be with them, and I'm glad that they gave us time to find someone else for that position."
Q) HOW LONG DO YOU FOCUS ON TRYING TO REMAIN AT STEWART-HAAS RACING; AND WHEN DO YOU REALLY START LISTENING AND DISCUSSING OPTIONS WITH OTHER TEAMS?
Patrick: "I really am happy at Stewart-Haas and they're working hard already to find someone for the new primary position. My team is working to find someone for the new primary position. So, I think at this point in time, we're moving forward with all those intentions. But I guess it is on some level open season in a lot of areas. So, I don't think you can ever say never, of course; but I am happy where I'm at right now."
Q) REGARDING THE TEAM, HOW DO YOU LOOK AT THIS? WHAT KIND OF CONVERSATIONS HAVE YOU HAD WITH TONY STEWART IF YOU WOULD GET A MULTI-FACETED SPONSOR OR IT MIGHT NOT BE AS MUCH MONEY AS GODADDY. YOU HAVE YOUR OWN MAJOR MANAGEMENT COMPANY THAT CAN BE WORKING ON THIS. HOW DOES THAT ALL FIT TOGETHER? WHAT CONVERSATIONS HAVE YOU HAD ABOUT WHAT YOU NEED OR WHAT YOU WANT?
Patrick: "Well, to imagine that this scenario was not possible is a lie, of course. We knew that it was possible that GoDaddy would go away. I think we're all ready and prepared to move on and to figure out other things. I don't know exactly. I'm fortunate that I have such great people working around me that they don't have to let me in on every day-to-day conversation that they have and what's happening. It's really only the big things and the things they might need me for. So, I don't know exactly what conversations have gone on before this happened or right now. But I know that we're working toward finding sponsors and that includes on my side, so my agent will try as well. It's a collaborative effort and I know they talk frequently and it's all to get the #10 car back out on the track."
Q) WHAT HAVE YOU AND TONY STEWART DISCUSSED?
Patrick: "I haven't talked to Tony about it yet. I will talk to him and say pretty much what I've said to anyone I've seen that it happened and I'm sorry this is our new scenario; but on the other hand, GoDaddy has been really great. I say that and it sounds like such a letdown that they've been phenomenal. They have been an enormous supporter through every transition. They supported me when I just wanted to run Nationwide to get experience. So, they've been great. But it is a new scenario and we're going to have to figure it out and it's a challenge, no doubt. Finding primary sponsors is a challenge. But I feel confident that in all the people to find sponsors, I believe in my agent and my team. And we'll figure it out."
Q) BEGGARS CAN'T BE CHOOSERS WHEN IT COMES TO A SPONSORSHIP HUNT. BUT YOU COMMAND A BIT MORE SWAY THAN A TYPICAL DRIVER. WILL YOU BE INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS? IS THERE A DREAM SPONSOR THAT YOU'D LIKE TO HAVE? IS THERE A PARTICULAR CATEGORY THAT YOU WANT?
Patrick: "I am very fortunate that somebody asked me if it's a matter of just going out and picking your new sponsors or I've been able to do that sort of thing. And I have been. I've been very fortunate as a brand being able to be somewhat picky about who it is. For me, it will be more about what their plan is and my two cents as to whether or not I think it fits or how I fit in it. You know what I've found, is that companies are extremely open to your ideas as a driver or as a personal idea that I believe will work, because in this day and age it's about authenticity and people can see through it pretty quick and easy. And your personality shines so much better when you're in a program that is something that you enjoy and that you're having fun with and that is a part of you. So, I think that we've been able to be a little selective. I don't think it's so easy as to just say a company and then go get them and have everything you want. We try, no doubt. But I think it's more about becoming more of the process with the marketing and branding and to make it all work and being a little bit selective. But, yeah, it's a tougher environment than it's ever been, so you also have to be open-minded."(Team Chevy)(5-1-2015)

Careers for Veterans to ride with Keselowski at 'Dega: Something will be different about Brad Keselowski's NASCAR Sprint Cup car during GEICO 500 weekend May 1-3 at Talladega Superspeedway. This weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, thanks to a cooperative effort between Miller Lite and Cooper Standard the rear quarter panels of the #2 Ford Fusion will feature CareersForVeterans.org, a veterans initiative created by Cooper Standard, a Brad Keselowski Racing Partner. Miller Lite and MillerCoors have enjoyed a longstanding partnership with Team Penske and Keselowski. Cooper Standard has supported the men and women who serve our country by helping them put their unique skill sets to work when they complete their service. Since the inception of the program in 2014, the company has increased its veterans workforce by 14%. "This is a tremendous opportunity to bring national attention to the Careers For Veterans program and it wouldn't be possible without the cooperation of our longtime partner MillerCoors," Keselowski said. "There have been some big moments for me at Talladega and hopefully we can add a few more this weekend."
The high profile platform is a direct result of Cooper Standard's longtime partnership with Keselowski. Cooper Standard continues its long running relationship with Brad Keselowski Racing in 2015 as primary sponsor of the #29 Ford F-150 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Through Cooper Standard's relationship with BKR, visibility for the Careers For Veterans program has dramatically increased. The end result has been more veterans gaining employment once they return to civilian life.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Michigan International Speedway will be named the Careers for Veterans 200 - the second consecutive season the race will be presented by The Cooper Standard Foundation and Brad Keselowski's Checkered Flag Foundation. The Careers For Veterans 200 further supports Cooper Standard's mission to bring national attention to the importance of hiring our military veterans.(BKR)(5-1-2015)
