Alan Dershowitz Rips Baltimore Attorney For Charges Against Cops, Predicts Acquittal

Not everybody is happy that the six police officers involved in the arrest of Freddie Gray are being charged with felonies.

One of those people is famous defense attorney Alan Dershowitz, who appeared with Steve Malzberg today to slam Baltimore state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby for playing politics with the lives of those officers.

Specifically, Dershowitz said that “this is a very sad day for justice.” He claimed that Mosby acted to prevent riots rather that in response to the evidence in the case.

He also said that it will be “virtually impossible” for the police officers to get a fair trial.

Dershowitz criticized Mosby for the extent of the charges as well, saying that there is “no plausible, hypothetical, conceivable case for murder.” He went so far as to say that the state’s attorney might be removed from the case.

Finally, he said that it’s unlikely that the state will get any convictions in this case. And, even if they do get convictions, they will probably lose on appeal.

Any civilized person who lives in Baltimore should sell their home before this fuse reaches its end.

If and when they convict these cops, every single cop in Baltimore should resign at the same time.

I find it hard to believe that cops will take this lying down. This Mob Rule is wildly over the top.

If and when these guys are convicted every God fearing American ought to knok down the walls of the prison.

Baltimore is a poor city with a wealthy core along the Inner Harbor that is highly dependent on: 1) conventions and trade shows; 2) professional sports; 3) tourists; and, 4) move-ins to new high rise condos along the water. If any of this substantially diminishes, and I expect it will, the expensive hotels, fancy restaurants and high-end shops will suffer and the city will decline further; in my view, you would have to be out of your mind to buy anything in that city, given its leadership which appears to be terrified of street mobs, willing to suppress the police, and cooperates with gangs to restore order.

He should include Obama and Holder in anything he says about Mosby.

I’m not a fan of lawyers but referring to this dizzy broad Mosby as a lawyer is the biggest insult you can dump on the profession.

Obama sends Sharpton to Baltimore to convey his support for THE WAR ON COPS!

Did Ms Mosley have any contact with the Obama Administration or its advisers.

...did she get a call from Val?

It's pretty clear that a great pct. of blacks feel they're victims of brutal, racist cops. And the implication is that without their being victims of these brutal, racist cops, their lives would be immeasurably improved.

Who believes that nonsense? The facts are: judging by the homicide and assault stats clearly there aren't enough cops in Baltimore. And they're not acting nearly as brutal as they should act towards a large percentage of Baltimore's young black males.

What Baltimore and many other cities with large, criminally-prone black males need is tougher actions against them to try and stop their out of control criminal inclinations. If that's possible.

God has a way of “trampling out the grain” however, even if it appears that everybody did everybody else wrong.

The three black cops will be acquitted, the three white cops will be convicted. Just a hunch...

Even on the worst view of what has been seen here, something like negligent manslaughter or wrongful death appears to be the case. Mosby et al would be absolute fools not to allow a jury to consider such “included charges” because to fail would amount to throwing the trial.
