No women able to finish first try at Ranger School

None of the remaining eight female candidates going through the Army Ranger School made it out of the first phase of training at Fort Benning, Ga., defense officials told Fox News -- though they scored high enough to try again as early as next week.

The candidates were the first women to train for the elite force as part of a program that began in February.

While they did not do well enough to move on to the next phase of training, an Army Ranger statement said the eight women -- along with 101 men in the same situation -- will be "recycled," meaning they can re-do the training phase in an upcoming Ranger School session.

A total of 60 women were originally slated to participate in Ranger Assessment Phase (RAP), according to the Pentagon in January. The Army Times reported in February that 100 women went into the pre-training phase, and in April, 19 women qualified for the first training phase, known as Darby. Within days, that number was down to eight.

Anyone want to take bets on when there’ll be a rule passed requiring a certain number of female Rangers (or other Special Forces members)?

Mountain phase will do them in. It caused me to cycle out twice. Never got my tab. Lots of good, strong men never get their tab. Mountain phase is a Hillary.

“And how long before the standards ?”

Maybe they could get a “Junior Ranger” badge and a decoder ring.

Girl tries out for my team last season. She is 14 and tougher than most of the boys on the team. She is one of my better players and gets through tryouts and in the final scrimmage before picking the team I take the parents aside. I tell them to get her on a girls team. The parents yell at me.

Before the first practice I call a buddy of mine in Wisconsin and secure a spot for her on a girls national travel team. Hour before practice I see the girl and her parents and they are excited she is playing for me. Once again I pull the parents aside, tell them they have a special kid and I got her a spot on a team in Wisconsin. School is worked out, family she will live with, everything including tuition. Parents accuse me of hurting their kids chances at a higher level.

A this point am wondering who is advising them because an exceptional hockey player who is a girl needs to play with girls not boys. First drill I do after warmups is a two on two battle in front of the net. Kid checks the girl, girl falls, girl breaks two bones inner hand, girl done for season.

Get off the ice after practice, mother is screaming. Father thanks me. Following season she played in Wisconsin on the girls team.

Bless their hearts, but girls have no business competing with boys. Not on the playing field, not on the battlefield. Call me sexist, but that’s the way it is.

You’re not sexist. You’re a realist. Mid teen to early 20 year old male athletes (hockey, football, boxing, and wrestling especially) are brutally and ruthlessly strong. Anything else is nonsense
They should have listened to you.
I fear the increase in attacks on young women after dark are in some cases due to their false assumption that some karate or cardio boxing class has prepared them to fight off a male if necessary and so they walk to cars alone from clubs, invite that jerk over for a nightcap, etc.
Stalkers will always exist, women must use brains to combat these animals.

I used to play a lot of pickup hockey, sometimes three nights a week.

There was one group that had two female players, and being a goalie, i was curious about their skill set, so I watched them warming up. They looked fast and shifty, and had somewhat decent wrist shots, though not as strong in a snapshot.

Once the game began, they couldn’t do a thing. It was a no contact (hitting) league, but they simply weren’t strong enough to push a guy or get him out of their way.

Sadly the next step will be to lower the standards so females can pass the course.

Its one thing to talk about female Rangers or Navy Seals if they have to pass the exact same rigorous course as the men. But its a very different situation if we are going to lower standards just to say that females are Rangers or Seals.

When I played intramural basketball, one night we let the wives and girlfriends of the players play on the teams. These were young women who were stars on their college basketball teams, making all-conference and such. It was no contest. The girls simply couldn’t compete. They couldn’t run, they couldn’t jump, they couldn’t rebound with the guys. They were short. They were slow. They had no power. Yet, competing among girls, they would have been very good.

“Two years ago, Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the nation’s top military officer, laid down an edict on the Obama administration’s plan to open direct land combat jobs to women: If women cannot meet a standard, senior commanders better have a good reason why it should not be lowered.

Today, the “Dempsey rule” appears to have its first test case.

The Marine Corps just finished research to see if female officers could successfully complete its rigorous Infantry Officer Course.”

OK. Put yourself in the Democrats shoes.

Why do you want to have women go to Ranger School?

What is your next move if you can’t get any women through the course?

What do Democrats think the purpose of Ranger School is?

What does the Army say the purpose of Ranger School is?

They are playing three moves ahead. Are we?

If they drop the Ranger/SEALS, etc standards, one can hope the correspondingly drop the SS standards. Only fair.

I knew a kid who broke his ankle in Ranger training back in the early `90s. It was just a freak accident. He was tough and strong and smart. And I’ve never seen someone so disappointed.
How would you like to be him in 2015, knowing you didn’t make it while some young woman is passed along because she didn’t have the same obstacles?
It’s a recipe for hard feelings, bad morale and disrespect. But that doesn’t mean anything to Obama and his career brass toads.

The solution is quite clear. Eliminate the rope climb and substitute with an event that everyone gets into a circle and discuss how they feelings are going to be damaged if they don’t get allow to be in the Infantry. Everyone will gives hugs and it will all be OK.

Alternatively, if it has to be a physical task. The boys will be required to climb the rope. The girls will slide down. See, that was easy. Group hugs.

How long before we hear that women were deliberately picked on and harassed so as to make it harder for them.

I know a lot of changes had to be made to training, specifically the instructors conduct, they had to change the language and many other things to accommodate, no doubt the entire graduating class was weakened as a result.

The Democrats, and the feminists, could care less about Ranger School or anyone who attends, including women. They are just interested in demonstrating that they are in charge. Just another poke with a stick into the eye of our society. They are just laughing their asses off.

I suspect most of them were flirting or looking for a legitimate reason for uhm...close intimate contact. No woman in her right mind would take on anybody matching your description. (Damned few men, for that matter.)
