The absolutify bookmarklet automates that very task. A page might contain dozens of links and dozens more images. The bookmarklet zaps them all in milliseconds, using the browser's built-in logic.
The process is:
- Load the page from which you want to copy.
- Run the bookmarklet, e.g., by clicking it in your toolbar.
- Select the part of the page you want to copy.
- Use View Selection Source or equivalent to get the HTML.
- Paste into an FR post.
- Use the Preview function to verify the links and images work in the excerpted version.
