The Navy is proceeding with its plan to increase the number of women in the service to 25 percent with a similar goal of attaining that ratio in each ship and squadron, the vice chief of naval operations said Thursday. Women currently make up about 17 percent of the Navy, said Adm. Michelle Howard, who made a stop in Honolulu on her way to the International Maritime Defense Exhibition in Singapore, where she will meet with her counterparts from other nations in the region.

What does Putin have to do with this? His military is in worse shape, his poorly trained 1 year draftees aren’t exactly up to American standards.
Forget all that WWII era crap you heard about the military’s job is to kill the enemy and bust up enough of his chit to make him quit the fight.

So stupid.
I had a young girl friend (yes, a friend with boobs) who was a Fire Control tech aboard USS Obrien (a tin can) back in the early 2000’s. She was good at her job, and hated her “sisters” aboard.
She told me the crew was 30% female even then, and a good number of them were getting knocked up in between decks, to get out of ship time and transfer to the beach.
Because....why? Is America so short on men that our armed forces, which makes up less than a 1% of the population, needs people who are not 100% up to the task?
So, we fill our military with women, gays, and non-citizens and drive the men out. Even Rome wasn’t that stupid in the latter days.

My father was on the Marblehead, he described a situation that needed men, torn twisted metal, men and bodies that needed hauling up ladders, chaos and bloodshed all over the ship, heavy temporary repairs desperately needing to be done quickly, fire hoses, all kinds of things that needed upper body strength as the systems and order, and machinery was destroyed or failing.
It there that many dikes?

What do you think is good about it? I tried to find out the plot online but the only thing I got was a poster which featured an attractive woman lawyer. I have dealt with men and women who were really good at their profession. Even if they were relatively young none of them were the spectacularly attractive types portrayed in TV. As a friend commented, “the women on TV shows are not only the tops in their field, they can double as super models if needed.”
What about defeating an enemy?
We are so dead.
I cannot picture women in the small boat Navy where the boat has a crew of 5 to 8. There are no toilet facilities and I just can’t picture some woman holding onto a post on the side of the boat while she takes a dump over the side in front of the rest of the crew.
