As an aside, have you noticed military scenes in futuristic science fiction? The women marines are twice as competent and twice as bada*ss as the men. So, obviously all this works out fine when it comes to fighting aliens in the future.

I stopped watching TV during the OJ trial. The few times I’ve tried the implied or actual politics, as you mentioned with the uber-competent but young and beautiful woman protagonist, turns me off.
