Substraction, Addition, Multiplication, Division.

They still teach that?

I can see the inner city tests.

If JimmyJo got sixteen rocks and BobbyBoy ain’t got none

How long before all heck break loose on the playground?
Oh wait.. That’s not math.. That’s life for some.

Frankly that’s nonsense. Teachers are giving out the grades because they are mandated to by management. And that’s because politicians are demanding higher passing rates when the students are worse. You will get harassed into extinction if you give honest grades. Lose your job, get bad evaluations requiring extensive remediation, lose your coaching and tutoring jobs. You may not get fired due to tenure but they can force you out in a myriad of other ways.

I remember Saxon Math when I homeschooled.

Some of my kids liked the repetition that kept them from forgetting. Some disliked it because they already knew it so why are we doing it again.

As a math weakling I would have loved Saxon in school. No nonsense straightforward math.

Oh he was a total crap teacher and total crap as a human being. But it really is more a mental block on my part, though he sure didn’t help. We all have things we do well and poorly. For me it’s Higher math like Algebra.

My opinion is that there’s NOTHING that the government can’t screw up once it gets its hands on it.

LIARS! Lying in every other profession on earth will get your license revoked and put the professional in court for MALPRACTICE!

For years I have been posting that, when a child graduates from high school barely literate and often completely innumerate, that behind that teen stand and ARMY of ****LIARS****!!!!

The teachers lied and principal LIED. They LIED to the child. They LIED to the parent. And....They LIE to the taxpayer.

So?....The next time you meet a government teacher, you are likely talking to a LIAR whose LIES **HURT** children!

Finally...Everyone else in the U.S. manages to make a living and life that doesn't include malpractice, lying, and HURTING KIDS. Teachers could, too.

NO....The unions are not at fault.

Teachers **choose** to LIE! Period. No one is holding a gun to their heads forcing them to LIE, They lie for money, generous vacations and holiday time, and pension.

These LIES HURT kids!

Every day government teachers get up, go to work, and WILLINGLY **choose** to LIE and their LIES HURT children. The rest of America manages to make a living that does include lying and hurting kids.

You get it. The schools are a godless, single-payer, socialist-entitlement, price-fixed at tuition-free, police-compulsion attendance, police-compulsion funding, and a monopoly cartel. ALL of them are a First Amendment and freedom of conscience abomination.

Such a monstrosity can not be fixed!

Eliminating unions, getting rid of the Department of Education, Locally controlled K-12 single-payer schools....etc....This is like aiming a water pistol at a raging forest fire. It's like pissing in the ocean hoping to warm it up.

Teaching my kids Saxon Math taught me right along with them.

I learned all that stuff they tried to teach me in public school and didn’t.

And I went in the *old* days, when the public schools were still supposed to be pretty good.

However, when your 7th grade math teach is more interested in hitting on the pretty girls, there’s not much teaching or learning going on. That’s where I lost it.

Now mind you, I got a science degree in college and had to take calculus for it and passed, barely, but I would have done better with a better math background.

You know our story. Saxon Math has all 3 of my kids in college at the ages of 13, 12, and 13. Two had B.S. degrees in math by the age of 18.

And....There are kids who should go straight from 6th or 8th grade directly into college. That was common at one time in our nation's history.

Suggestion:

If a child ( of any age) takes the SAT, ACT, or GED exam and earns a high enough score, then he should be able to go to his local high school and be awarded an **official** high school diploma. Any funds that would normally go to K-12 schooling should then be available for college tuition or trade school.

A high enough score on the ACT, SAT, or GED is **literate** and **numerate**! Just putting in time at the local high school and collecting a diploma is worthless if the child can barely read and is innumerate.

One more thing about bright and hard working kids.

I once dated a man who graduated from the highly competitive Stuyvesant High School. Many of those kids are completely wasting their time in high school. They could finish college and be well on their way to advanced degrees in 4 years spent in high school. Drive by you local high school, and my bet is this is also true for the top 5% of students in that school.

My homeschoolers entered college at the ages of 13, 12, and 13. By the age of 18, two earned B.S. degrees in mathematics. The oldest went to night school and traveled the world representing the U.S. in a sport. He still finished a masters degree at a typical age.

But they need to advance, so they can join the NBA or the NFL. If you fail them, teachers, they wont be on athletic teams.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The truth is that taxpayer is paying for minor league sports for the big leagues.

Not only should there be complete separation of school and state there should also be complete separation of **sports** and state!

True enough. My only point here is that states, cities and counties are also governments. They are often at least as capable of screwing things up as the feds are.

In the documentary, “Waiting for Superman”, it was pointed out that the neighborhoods don't make the school bad. No, they don't!

( emphasis)****It is the **schools** that make the neighborhood bad!!!!***** (/emphasis)

Blacks are merely canaries in the coal mine. It is already manifesting itself in white America, as well. If generations of kids are schooled in godless and socialist-entitlement K-12 schools we shouldn't be surprised to have a nation of godless citizens who are comfortable with using the voting mob to get **lots** of “free” stuff.
