Walker Hints at Running Mate
Fox News | 5/28/2015 | conservativejoy

I just heard Walker on Neal Cavuto's program hint that he might consider a Walker/Rubio ticket.

What do Freepers think of this?

Hope not. Rubio is a RINO.

Well let’s consider this. If Ted Cruz is the nominee and he were to pick Rubio or Paul, are you gonna bail on Ted? Of course not. The head of the ticket is the one that counts the most. I suspect all of us would still vote for Ted even if he had a St. Bernard as a running mate.

I think Walker would do well with a military pick with good foreign policy credentials. Someone boring but competent to provide the sort of gravitas which is missing from this race.

Also not good if this has any indication on how Walker will deal with immigration policy.

There are three reasons to choose a particular running mate:

1) To win the state from which the running mate is from
2) To win voters sympathetic to running mate
3) To give a particular image to the team

Nobody chooses a running mate for their potential to influence policy (the VP position is a weak position).

Nobody is realistically thinking about future electability of the VP pick, TEN years in the future.

The “heartbeat from the Presidency” meme was only used for Dan Quayle. This was never used on Joe Biden, who is dumb as a box of rocks.

Rubio (who has already decided to give up his Senate seat) puts Florida in Walker’s tally and will bring in some of the Hispanic vote. He will NOT change Walker’s new-found immigration stand, nor will Rubio moderate Walker’s aggressive implementation of conservatism.

Strategically, it isn’t a bad choice.

Eh. Rubio leaves me even less than lukewarm.

I know Walker stuck it to the unions, which is great, but I’m afraid in person he might be more Romney-esque. Need someone who can stand up and rally the troops, and not come down with a case of “foot in mouth” disease. (In other words: Cruz!)

Snot nose, deer in the headlights Rubio brings nothing to the table though. He is supposed to be good on foreign policy, but that is POLICY, and there are plenty better.

I’m pretty sure you’re wrong on a couple of counts. If Rubio continues running for prez/vp., he will be unable to hold his senate seat in FL by law. I’m certain he decided not to defend his senate seat because the republican establishment/elite has promised him at least the vp position for selling out conservatives in his alliances with Schmucky Schumer, Mark Zuckerberg, John McCain and the gang of eight.

He only won the senate seat by the skin of his teeth against the orange idiot, Charlie Crist, who was other RINO running in the race. After selling out FL conservatives with his amnesty love, there is no guarantee he can hold the seat anyway.

If Walker is considering making Rubio his running mate, I would not be surprised at all. Walker is an establishment player and his reversal of amnesty support in order to fool the electorate is a ploy right out of Romney’s book. Selection of Rubio would be absolute proof that stealth establishment Walker has been lying this whole time.

Walker/Rubio vould be a winning ticket. I would vote that. Rubio can actually speak Spanish and as VP he would help take Florida which we will need to win Nationally.

I’m not understanding how Rubio adds foreign policy heft to the ticket. Of the potential candidates, he doesn’t seem to stand out on that issue.

All things in place, if Walker picks Rubio or some other RINO, he’s toast. That may be the plan for the elites to put the hag in the WH if she manages to stay out of jail. I know, the hag being held to account is not very likely.

Haven’t heard anything from Rubio yet, but it will be interesting to hear his reaction.
