They usually don’t complete a circuit. This one apparently did.

They’re usually not big enough to complete the circuit by touching two lines at once- in this case the snake was probably long enough to do it.

Cuz most birds aren't long enough to touch 2 wires, which is what it takes.

Long snakes, on the other hand...
