I think you are right-also note that they have power backup from batteries and diesel generators-the batteries can be recharged if they have solar-as long as the collectors are not vandalized or destroyed-but I doubt that in the event of an Armageddon-type event, someone can just go out in a tanker truck and fill up with diesel fuel someplace-that doesn’t sound like the best plan to me.
In my modest, personal pursuit of going galt, one of the first items on my agenda was to have a plan that makes the transition to off-grid pretty simple and no fuss-and it doesn’t include generators that need fuel from off-site...
