PHILIPSBURG It could be argued that sleeping in a king-size bed with a fully plumbed bathroom inside your tent isn't actually camping.
However, for many guests at the Ranch at Rock Creek, that is their first taste of camping.
"They don't have closets but they do have armoires," said Rich Miller, director of facilities at the ranch outside Philipsburg.

Looks nice inside the tent . . . but not much protection from a hungry bear.

During particularly warm summers I’ve taken my bed out and slept in the tent for weeks.
Today I have a screenroom type of porch.

Don't know why people would do this.
But then don't know why people do a lot of thing.
For the record I used to rough camp but now days I will have a trailer with a bed and toilet. As you get older comforts become necessities. :)

I don’t mind sleeping in a tent but I want a campground with showers etc.

Sleeping in a tent is ok but I am sleeping in a bed not on the ground like I did as a young cub.
Not after last time. Took me half the morning to straighten back up.

I’ve stayed in fancy “Lodge” accommodations, 4 or5 stars, but in the mountains (steaks, wine, sauna, etc). it’s nice. Tent with a wood floor could be similar. I’m not saying that camping, but it gives you some nature and all kinds of comfort. I’ve also slept under the stars, and in makeshift tree.branch shelters. That’s authentic. You know what else is authentic? Walk a day in, set up a surplus army tent from Korea, have it rain wind and hail for twenty minutes to soak you to the bone, have every bug in the world come out and live on you, until the temps drop to the 40s and the wind kicks up, and people keep asking you to pull.off the ticks they can’t reach. I’m old enough that I don’t have to do that anymore.
