I’ve been to Santa Barbara a few times and it seems like quite a lovely place. Always short visits, though, so I don’t have a feel for what it would be like to live there full time. But the surfing is very nice and the weather is ideal.
And my sister did gator wrestling a little south of there in the Ojai area. She said it was an awesome experience. I was (and still am) jealous.
Never been to the ocean but I do have some Great Lakes.
