In my 35 years raising and Dobermanns, experience has shown it is almost always the human in the wrong.

That was my first instinct as well, but we have no evidence (yet) to support that.

I am interested in seeing how bad the wounds are from the "attack".

There is a difference between simply being bitten and a full on attack.

BTW - We have a small Doberman (65 lbs) who is (Like most Dobies) very sweet and well behaved. We laugh when people walk across the street when they see us coming with her.
