SCOTUS Ruling on LGBT Tomorrow (Thursday)? (Vanity)
6/24/15 | Me

Posted on 06/24/2015 10:03:09 PM PDT by hoagy62

I was looking over at another forum and one of the people I know over there said it's expected that the Supreme Court is going to release their ruling on the same-sex marriage case.

Anyone heard anything about this?

Prediction: It’s ruled legal 6-3 or 7-2.

I think it will be 6-3, as well. Kennedy and probably Roberts will vote with Ginsburg/Kagan/Kennedy/Sotomayor. Alito might, but I think probably not. Scalia and Thomas will dissent.

Just realized they release rulings on Mondays and Thursdays. If they want to make a ‘statement’ about SSM, and since June is “Pride Month”, they’d need to do it either tomorrow or Monday.

God help us.

Hope those who vote for it regret it the rest of their lives. God has a way of dealing with hubris.

I have a hard time believing they will rule against SSM. With the mood in the country these days, I’d guess they’d rule against confederate flags if it was before them.

No matter the Supreme’s decision, it’s already a done deal.

Politically, they can OK this one, and crush Obamacare with political cover. The largely gay-run media will be so busy celebrating queer marriage, that the fall of Obamacare will come like a body-blow to them.

The media will celebrate homosexual marriage week when the ruling comes out.

Just as they celebrated for an entire week when Obama came out for homosexual marriage, they will celebrate this expected ruling to impose homosexual marriage on all 50 states.

Dred Scott, Separate But Equal, Roe v. Wade, Kelo...and now Sodomy v. Gomorrah. All bad SCOTUS decisions that were or will be repealed in the fullness of time.

Roberts view of a court that defers to the political branches will likely vote there is no right for same sex marriage, meaning this one will come down to Kennedy.

The SC will rule gay marriage is legal everywhere. Now the church will really be put to the test. Because before too long the church will be ordered by the government to perform gay marriages. Those who refuse will lose their tax exempt status which means they’ll be harassed by the IRS. Then there will come a day when they will either marry gays or be shut down.

Will the preachers finally stand up and lead a revolt? Or will they simple preach that “We are to obey the laws of the land?”

Yep and if you wore green on Thursday you were queer. We had one obvious fairy in a class of over 900.

The left is going to overstep its bounds. Perhaps when they come for the American flag.

I don’t see any way they overturn all these nullifications of state laws and amendments. The best we can hope for is that they somehow define the issue narrowly within the actual law. That somehow they say because the government provides services and tax breaks to couples, they have to apply the same to a gay couple, but that states have leeway to define it in a matter seen fit. Also some sort of religious freedom discussion. That is highly optimistic, but it’s the best we should even hope for. .
