The five largest publicly traded health insurance companies (UnitedHealth, Anthem,1 Aetna, Humana and Cigna) all of which were party to an amicus brief in support of the subsidies filed by Americas Health Insurance Plans, a trade group for insurance companies rose an average of 1 percent over their opening prices by 11 a.m. Thursday. The bounce started at approximately 10:10 a.m., right when SCOTUSblog first announced the Supreme Courts decision. All five companies.
That rise amounted to a $3 billion increase in the combined market capitalization of the five companies.

How much does Roberts get?I’d like to know the going price for a Chief Justice.
How much more with the insurance companies have to suffer under this egregious legislatlion?
Oops.
The health insurance companies are now fully dependent on the federal government’s tyrannical rule of the people. Good luck with that.
On the other hand, now the insurance companies get to write laws through rules and regulations. Maybe the tyrannical government is a slave to the health insurance industry. What is the government going to do? Tell insurance companies what to charge? At what point do the doctors start working for a loss and taking subsidies directly from the government?
F,WAF!
Does anyone honestly believe SCOTUS justices would take that POS position for a measly $220k a year when their buddies across the quad are making $22M a year on kickbacks, bribes, and insider trading???
“....Id like to know the going price for a Chief Justice.”
Well, whatever it might be, it worked. And the American citizen will be paying the price in freedom, economy, and quality of medical care.
And the SCOTUS, who are tragically employed for life, have earned the title of ‘the most corrupt, political, and dysfunctional SCOTUS in the history of the United States’.
Proud of that Roberts??? (or does he even care?)
“The 2016 campaign fundraising bomb just exploded. Cha-Ching!”
Many dollars will flow from the medical industry right into campaign coffers.
Some people can’t be bought, but can be blackmailed
It’s far too late for this go ‘round but the next time someone designs a constitutional republic maybe they’ll design in some checks and balances against activist courts.
As Rush says,”Follow the Money”.
Hasn’t this been what it is all about from the beginning?
Our health care costs have mightily increased, Medicine has become SO expensive - even our pet meds have gone up! - government control over our lives has increased, and everyone is paying huge amounts more money instead of the poorest of the poor, for which the govt is kicking in, and we know who is paying for that - everyone else.
Our payments have increased mightily, and we are just over poverty level legally. And everyone I know who would NEVER consider having gone to an ER before except for a REAL emergency now goes for sore throats and such. So you know costs are rising astronomically.
It’s a money machine. That’s all Obamacare is. I don’t know why the DU types on the left are so thrilled with this, but they are. Money being poured into corporations (crony corporatism - the marriage of govt and large industry) and forced out of the pocket of the avg taxpayer against their will all the while with the propaganda of “It’s for your own good, little man”. It’s so clear.
Humana was suspended during the day for volatility; resumed trading late, closed up.
