Vanity- Maybe the States can refuse to recognize any marriage

Posted on 06/27/2015 9:32:46 AM PDT by Perdogg

Maybe some of the States could pass legislation not recognizing any marriage. This would be in line the SCROTUS rulings. SCROTUS said that Homosexual marriage was protected under "equal protection". Therefore, if there is no provision for any marriage, it would be "equal protection".

Wow. I wonder how many other states will follow Oklahoma’s example.

Sure, couples could have their own ceremonies and commit to each other.

But, according to what I’ve read, if two people want to be married in a church, the person officiating the ceremony is required to also report the sacramental marriage through the state as a “civil marriage.”

I did read that, when couples are in the country illegally, sometimes a Catholic church will marry them secretly, but they’re not supposed to.

I believe that is only if you want your marriage to be legal.

If you don’t care about it being legal, then you can do whatever you want.

Nobody has to make their marriage legal, if they don’t want to.

That was the idea behind Civil Unions, but homosexuals refuse to be placated. They demand your glorification of their deviant sexual behavior or you will be punished.

Regardless of how you feel about homosexual marriage, the fact remains that what we are witnessing is pure tyranny. Under no circumstances can this edict be seen as a legitimate law in a representative republic.

At least they took a vote in Ireland.

The problem is that we offer tax benefits, social security benefits and special treatment to married couples because we need children to continue as a society. Homosexuals are incapable of naturally reproducing through sodomy, or any other sexual act between same sexual partners. Marriage isn’t about couples, it is about protection of children and the rights of children to be raised in a stable unit with a mother and a father.

Everything that the Leftists do attack the Civil Society by attacking the building block of society, the intact nuclear family. They promote no fault divorce, co habitation, single parenthood, and homosexual activity including codification in law that homosexual acts are as important and meaningful to society as the reproductive act. It is simply not the case.

What the Churches and Synagogues (Mosques will be exempt) should do is to no longer perform marriages. Only provide some type of religious ceremony for couples of their organization after the fact.

All “marriages” should be left to the JP’s or whatever gov’t appointed group.

Then hopefully in the future a section of the country will declare Nullification as their official policy towards the federal gov’t and then succeed from the old union and reestablish the fundamental principles the Founders put forth.

You know that and I know that, but the progressives are always trying to “improve” Creation with their hair-brained ideas.

( Speaking of witch, why does an image of Debbie Wasserman Schultz always come to mind when using the word “hair-brained” ?)
