Romero is a crazy strong!
Oh nooooooo... The Dragon!
Overwhelmed and overpowered >_<;
Yoel Romero defeats Lyoto Machida by KO (elbows) in round 3.
Romero saying something like "America what happened to you?". Dissing gay marriage?
Romero wearing a John 3:16 headband asks the crowd what happened to the USA seeming to be referencing yesterdays supreme court decision. Crowd is mostly silent as Romero tells them to look to Jesus.
It sounded like he said something along the lines of “go for Jesus not for gay.”
That is what I thought I heard him say.
Something like what happened to you America? Go back to Jesus, not to gay!
Dana White is a pro-gay liberal, he once suspended Matt Mitrione for “transphobic” comments when he dissed Fallon Fox. Sadly, it wouldn’t surprise me if Dana did the same to Yoel.
Good for him!
Twitter is full of hate for him already.
Romero didn’t say anything “hateful” if White tries to punish him, I’ll be pissed.
Well, guess that's a wrap folks. Fun night! Thanks all for participating. See you next time in 2 weeks for UFC 189 - Aldo vs. McGregor....if it happens. Seems to be a go so far.
[[Some of his early fights he took a lot of criticism for running too much and fighting boring fights.]]
I’ve seen many of his fights and to me none were boring- Sure, he was elusive, which is what made the fight an interesting chess match to me- then he’d explode with such power and accuracy that you just had to sit there and go ‘wow- awesome’ I much preferred watching his style offighting than someone who would take a fighter down and remain there the whole fight doing nothing really except winning on takedown points
Yes, he is, and I would not be surprised with that either, however, Dana, and the SCOTUS, and the LGBT people need to realize that not everyone agrees with them, and not everyone ever will.
Just because 5 egomaniac lawyers said something is so does not mean something is so.
Me too.
Tolerance is a two way street, Mr. White. Do not ask for what you are not willing to give.
If Yoel does get in trouble, he should play the race card and claim Dana is anti-Cuban. As a (half) Cuban, I can say that Cubans are very expressive, if they don’t like something they are not afraid to say it, political correctness be damned. A few years ago, when I was a lot heavier than I was not, my grandmother (whom I see rarely due to 1,000+ miles) would straight up call me fat and would tell me I needed to lose weight.
“when I was a lot heavier than I was not”
am now*
Aldo out, it’s McGr V. Mendes for the Interim Title
I wish it Frankie Edgar instead.
Edgar vs mcGregor would be awesome.
I am not impressed with Aldo dropping out.
He seems scared, maybe I’m reading it wrong, but that is what he seems to me.
I read an article on ESPN that Mendes would be the favorite due to his high wrestling skills so it should be interesting.
I thought Aldo was gonna lose anyway, after the injury the oddmakers agreed.
He’s probably doing what’s smart for him, but I’m disappointed (even though this is still a great fight). McG on the other hand is taking a risk.
The latest odds have McG favored over Mendes but that may change. Most people think he’s a tougher matchup for McG, and I agree, since he hasn’t faced a top wrestler yet.
I’m still picking Conor. If it was Edgar rather than Mendes, I’d probably pick Edgar.
Looks like the fight is remaining the main event with Lawler/MacDonald as the co-main. Challenger MacDonald is the betting favorite.
UFC 149 - Another undisclosed injury put the kibosh on Aldo's planned bout with Erik Koch in July 2012 which led to teammate Renan Barao's interim bantamweight fight with Urijah Faber being moved to the main event.
UFC 153 - Erik Koch would have been cursing Aldo's training partners when the rescheduled title fight was also scrapped after the Nova Uniao fighter damaged his foot in training.
UFC 176 - This event was just the second time that the UFC had to cancel an entire pay-per-view when Jose Aldo fell out of his scheduled fight with Chad Mendes after a shoulder injury late on in training meant that he couldn't compete."

I detect a pattern.....
