A “Janet Reno” would come burn you all down.

Prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance
I think Texas will appreciate the buffer lands of New Mexico and Oklahoma. I will be fifty miles north of the Red River, but should the lines faulter I am developing an escape plan to Texas. Thankfully, we have some conservative relatives down there. Like you, I am too much invested in where I am to up and leave. Oklahomans are tough as Texans, but there just are not that many of us.
As you know, I’m not far from you so that’s two of us against Obamanation and his minions - we will have a target rich environment. You are a fine man, I’m glad I know you.

My B-I-L has a Picture of himself and President Reagan taken at Reagan's Office in Century City.
When I asked him about it, he said he used to visit with the President about once a month in the late 80’s, early 90’s. I was shocked and he acted like it was no big deal.
He had done some Business with the Office Manager who had introduced them because President Reagan wanted things done a certain way and wanted to Communicate his requirements directly to him.
Apparently they hit it off and he was a frequent Visitor.
My B-I-L is as Apolitical as they come, and to this day I don't think he realizes how fortunate he was to have such an opportunity. I just shake my head in how he just doesn't see any significance to his Friendship with The President.
He told me that he found President Reagan to be one of the kindest People he had ever met. A very genuine and caring individual. Again, unlike me, he just looked upon the President as a nice Older Gentleman. To this day he truly has no idea the effect that Reagan had upon our Nation.
It actually bewilders me that he is so naive about such things. I really can't explain it, but unlike me, his Blood Pressure doesn't go through the roof hearing the name Obama.
Good or bad, he just doesn't see what we see. He just lives his Life. Even when he was Drafted and sent to Vietnam, he just did what he had to do, came home and moved on. While he might talk about the experience if asked, he doesn't dwell on it and he just feels fortunate to have survived his time there. Once something is done, he just moves on.
Sorry to drone on, there is just one other part of the story.
When my B-I-L’s Father was turning 80, my B-I-L asked President Reagan's Assistant if she thought he could bring him by to meet The President.
She spoke to Reagan and he agreed. Instead of just having them come by during Business Hours, the President stayed late one night. The Plan was to tell my B-I-L’s Father that they would be going out to Dinner is a fancy Restaurant in Century City.
When the date arrived, my B-I-L took his Parents to the Office Building. Once they arrived, they were met by Reagan's Assistant in the Lobby and she took them to the Private Elevator that serves Reagan's Office Suite.
My B-I-L’s Father was bemused thinking that they were going to such an Exclusive Restaurant that had such service.
Well, when they got to the Office, the Elevator Door opened and there stood President Reagan. My B-I-L’s Father was speechless. He had no idea what just happened.
President Reagan introduced himself to my B-I-L’s Parents then took them on a Tour of his Office. After that, he and my B-I-L’s Father talked for nearly 30 Minutes while looking out on the Nighttime Cityscape.
My B-I-L’s Father talked about the experience until the day he died. I think he was still in disbelief about it.
I'm not sure if there a point to this story, but to me it just proves everything that we think about the Greatest President of our Generation is true. He was Genuine, Caring and Principled, even when nobody was looking.
I thought you might enjoy a story that still makes me think of how fortunate we as a Nation were at one time. Today I am as sad as I can be to see how the Republic is decaying at such an alarming rate. I never thought that something “big” was on the Horizon, but that is no longer the case. Pray for America that she will survive the Traitorous fools that seek to destroy her from within.
Yes, so many of us know exactly what you’re talking of and we feel the same. Some days I come here and just can’t believe that every single article is so horrific that I have to go away without reading beyond the headlines. Never have things been so hopeless as now. I would love to have a smidgen of hope like you do, but I’m afraid that even if Ted Cruz did win by some miracle, that he’d suffer the same fate as JFK. I fear for his life if indeed he is the man we hope he is.
“I feel the same way. One side of me says ‘prep, gather resources, stay quiet’; the other side of me says ‘someone needs to step up and lead those around you - go do it like you always did at work’. I’m still asking the Lord what he wants me to do.”
I think we are all contemplating and praying to determine our course of action for now and later. We don’t know what else is coming, but with God we will deal with it.

Never pick a fight with an old feller...
All that is happening right now (and always) happens within the will of God. He is in control, even if we don’t understand the details in any given moment or period of time. As the Bible says, “Trust in the Lord.”
I’m in Maine. This morning or last night I was bounced (kicked off) of Maine’s conservative conversation website (www.asmainegoes.com) for starting a thread on the confederate flag, using Lazmataz’s thread and initial post on it for the basis of the conversation. We do live in interesting times.
We’ll be back in Texas sometime this winter. Retirement looms for us, and it is my fervent wish that Texas is where we will settle, among like minded patriots.
Keep the faith. Trust in the Lord. God bless you and your family.
How’d you miss the free Noogie? Ya just weren’t trying, I guess. It wasn’t all that great, anyway. You didn’t miss much.
You and your #18 are two reasons why I am comforted by the fact that two of my precious daughters are living permanently in Texas. God bless you and yours!
I decided not to wait. I bought the ranch and I live in an RV in town during the week for work. I drive home on the weekends. Quite pleasant and very doable.
Windflier, would you make sure I am on the Texas ping list? Thanks.
That’s fantastic! My only Reagan story is when I was 17 I had a part-time job at the Pugueot/Fiat dealership in downtown Austin. Reagan’s motorcade was coming down and I separated from the NO MO’RON screechers so he could see me wave. He looked right into my eyes and smiled bigger’n Dallas at probably his only supporter on his route.
LMAO! You are dealing with your own “Supreme Court”.
I trust God and I refuse to be disheartened but choose to live each day to fight against evil on the personal level.
My former Church was destroyed by the Gaystapo and the one we have now, will soon be attacked. It is the truth and, it has been expected.
Faith in God is all the power we actually need, and our peace is strengthened by the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ.
Have peace, do not be driven down by satanic forces as You live each minute be conscious about what is going around you and do every thing you can to to counter Satan and give glory to God.
If you are hated and persecuted by evil it reveals your ownership by God in Jesus Christ, I feel blessed today because of this.
I think you freepers in Texas are just not use to this type of frustration. This is that moment when we have all become “those people over there who live in tyranny in a blue state”. Welcome to the club, and “Remember the Alamo” because we need your Texan style grit.
I live in flyover country in Pennsylvania (aka ‘Pennsyltucky’) We’ve been dreaming about land in the “Pennsylvania Wilds”. Lots of forest land between the liberal cities of Pittsburgh and Philly. We live ‘out’ now - but not by much.
It will be worth it if we succeed, but the costs will be high. Liberty over death. But socialism and propaganda brought us to where we have to have that hierarchy re-established. So sad.
Well said, sir-my ancestors came from Spain to Mexico over 400 years ago, and to what is now SW Texas in the 1780’s-even so, one of my cousins became disgusted with what is going on, and slipped off to a remote place in Mexico-she thinks I should do the same.
Easy as that would be, since I’m ranch-bred, used to living with the land and learned Texmex/Norteno Spanish at home as a child-my roots are too deep into Texas to leave. It has been good enough for my family for well over 200 years, it is good enough for me-I’ll stay. I also thought about picking up and quietly disappearing into Alaska, but that is running away, too. I’ve said many times that I’m an unrepentant rebel, and I’ve been ready for the revolution since I was 14-so bring it on...
My compadre and employer died a couple of weeks ago-his family and I were working on going galt together-but as soon as some things settle and I have some work again, I’m going to burrow even deeper off the beaten track than I am now, build a nest that can go off grid and live as self sufficient as possible-lots of people going/gone galt out here, so I’m in good company-there is already plenty of barter/trade and the like going on.
I believe Texas and Texans will survive, with or without other states-we are a hardy and rebellious bunch, and we would rather fight than give in to outsiders who don’t know how to just leave people alone who don’t want to be part of a hive or other socialist paradise...
Fight the power!
