She is trying to compete with a woman's body, as developed over her lifetime, against men with the full male equipment (not the obvious stuff, but the muscle mass, bone density, etc.)

After all this fanfare, she will be quietly dropped from the team.

Initially he planned to stay on that team but had mixed feelings about it - he wanted to swim, but he also wanted to embrace his identity.

If "he" has two X chromosomes, and if "he" has a vagina instead of a penis, then SHE is still a woman. (For that matter, even if she has already undergone the adadyctomy procedure, she is still a woman.)

Had any of those teammates so much have vaguely suggested Bailar simply swim at the club level he would have immediately been viewed as a social pariah and ridiculed on campus...led by the administration.

Remember, no free speech on campus permitted unless it adheres to a very specific and orchestrated script.
