“Paramounts Terminator Genisys was close behind, pulling in $6.5 million and bringing its total to $15.4 million.”
That’s a Box office flop for you on a holiday weekend.
Hollywood seems to lost it’s creative ability. All we are seeing are reruns of the same movie like Terminator, Jurassic Park and even Top Gun coming out later.
At least with “Star Wars” the story continues, but I can’t help but wonder if people will grow tired of it?
Sort of like the last of the final Hobbit series movie that just came out which I think is a prequel to the Lord of the Rings? In any event, that movie and entire series has run it course.
The only movies I can think of that still have a lot of Box Office success are the James Bond movies and perhaps the Star Trek movies?
I don’t expect them to be made, but Tolkien’s Silmarillion story-line is still untapped. Quite a few wonderful tales there that could be filmed. But, hopefully not by Peter Jackson who started off fairly well but then turned the movies into long, ponderous videogames which deviated too much from Tolkien’s tale.
Just saw "Inside Out" today. I was pleased to see an original idea in the movie - different characters playing the emotions of the cast characters and being cast characters themselves. It was a clever idea. It is worthwhile and it shows the degenerates at the top of Disney that PG and G rated movies do well.
