You would not believe the absolute agenda driven crap that is out there for kids and young adults. A couple of years ago my homeschooler was 7 or 8 borrowed a book from the library about two girls touring Europe. I glanced at it and it seemed ok but later she was telling me about one girl having 2 moms and the other having 2 dads. Now we only do the classics or most books printed before 1970.
a good thing about Goodreads are the shelves which readers reveal such things.
