Vegetarians who love fast food may soon have more options at one of the world’s largest fast food chains. Burger King may expand its vegetarian offerings from its Indian locations to other markets.

Meatless Burger King fare on the current Indian menu include: a Veg Chilli Cheese Melt, a vegetarian Whopper, Crispy Veg, Spicy Bean Royale, Paneer King Melt, and the BK Veggie. There are also vegetarian sides like Veggie Strips, which look like mozzarella sticks stuffed with vegetables instead of cheese, and spicy onion rings called Fiery Rings

"Looking at the response here, the global management is evaluating introducing some of these options going forward to other vegetarian-friendly markets like the U.K.," Raj Varman, chief executive officer of Burger King India, told Indian news agency PTI, reports the Economic Times. ..

I would try these items. I love Indian food. Would be nice to have it ‘fast.’ I am always depressed when I come back from Europe. No fast Indian or Turkish food anywhere here. Though, I probably lose 10 pounds every time I come back.

Those sound great! I also love Indian food but would choose a vegetarian option anyway.

Where do you live? There’s plenty of fast middle eastern and Indian here in NY...

If we had a falafel stand on every corner, like they do in Amsterdam, I’d double my weight.

Sounds a little odd, but there are a lot of vegans around everywhere these days.

It’d be silly not to target their taste buds - and their wallets.

No problem, I won’t notice. After the gay hamburger, Burger King is on my scratch off list.

These actually sound worth trying. They would beat the damaged done to the traditional menu to appease leftist nuts.

I suspect there are many fewer than the noise they make might suggest. I used to buy salads at McDonald’s. Each time I’d ask how many they sold. I’d generally get answers like, yours is the first today. Or, I throw away most of them. Or, not that many. Sales will probably depend on area. I’d guess San Fran and similar hippie havens would do okay, if those people could bring themselves to shop in a fast food outlet. But, mainstream America? Probably not worth the introductory and waste costs.

The only bad thing about them is that they are loaded with NaCl.

Since Burger King has been selling “Pride” Whoppers, they are off my list.
