Micro Black Aces Shotgun! Is it Legal?
Guns America ^ | 7/9/15 | Jacob Epstein

Black Aces is offering a discount for GunsAmerica readers. If you’ve been thinking about buying a DT now might be the time. Use the code GA10 when ordering and get 10% off. Check out Black Aces: http://www.blackacestactical.com/dt

These aren’t easy to find, either. Ordering is easy enough, but they’re not languishing on store shelves, if you know what mean. As of the writing of this, only one lucky reader can buy one on GunsAmerica: http://www.gunsamerica.com/Black Aces DT

During the course of this review, I asked Black Aces Tactical’s Eric Lemoine what DT stands for. “DT stands for Delirium Tremens,” Lemoine replied. “Back in November, when we announced that it was going into production and we published our ATF letter, the shockwaves that it sent across the internet were profound. The AR community was not pleased. So that weekend, as we sat at the bar, we thought the appropriate name of the weapon would be DT, considering the tremors and horrors that it was sending across the community.”

Introducing the Black Aces DT

Black Aces Tactical isn’t a household name. Yet. They don’t have the longevity of Colt or the pedigree of Browning, but we think the Black Aces brand will grow because these guys are building guns that no one else even dares to develop. The best example is their redesign of the classic the pump shotgun, the DT. With their billet receivers, removable magazines, and pistol grip stocks, these shotguns are the Ferraris of pump guns.

Does it require ATF paperwork?

According to the manufacturer, it is just an ordinary firearm as far as the ATF is concerned. No NFA tax stamp required.

Other guns are circumventing the SBR (short barreled rifle) category by use of a similar arm brace arrangement.

Not sue about this one, but I bet if you ask 5 different ATF agents, you’ll 5 different answers.

The shoulder stock looks detachable. I would make sure that it would still be over regulation length (26 inches overall, 18 inch minimum barrel length) even if the stock is detached.

I rather don’t like the fact that the ATF could just change their mind on a whim. They aren’t exactly known for competence or consistency.

That’s just it. The ATF has ruled that an arm brace is NOT a shoulder stock. Read the article. The author explains it.

Shame it’s not a semi-auto.

At Kittery Trading Post, I saw a lever action “hogsleg” chambered in .357 mag with a very short barrel and a chopped stock. You could easily conceal it inside a topcoat.

I was amazed that the thing was even legal, but perhaps it’s because it’s chambered for a revolver round. I don’t know.

It's legal because it is classified as a pistol, not a short barreled rifle.

If I didn’t live in Commiefornia, I might consider adding one of those to my Arsenal.

I’ll never buy another Firearm while we live here.
Even Long Guns now have to be Registered.

Good luck aiming that thing.

Pistol braced guns are a joke! Never understood the appeal and most SBR’s are worthless past 50 yards anyways.

I’m not sure, but the Spade on the Black Magazine might make it the first Racist Shotgun.

I’m going to need an even dozen of these things...

I guess I like the concept, but the detachable magazine ruins it. For my liking, I’m still a fan of the KSG. Reality: there is an 870 Express by my nightstand and with the extended tube, it’s perfect and didn’t cost me a grand.

Very nice for home defense by a spouse that doesn’t go to the range as much as you.

I told her ;
Point at intruder.
Pull trigger, jack shell into chamber.
Repeat until body parts fall off of intruder, and then once more for posterity!
