Some will regard this as the height of pretentiousness. I call this a breath of fresh air and vital warning against vainglory.
Speaking of Charlotte Church, during last year's Christmas season, I watched a Christmas DVD from Westminster Abbey in 2000 that featured choirs and several soloists. I enjoyed the program over all which featured readings from the Bible, and I particularly enjoyed bass Bryn Terfel. Charlotte was given the star billing (along with Andrea Bocelli-he's another story) while Terfel was barely mentioned. I had not heard Charlotte Church for a long time and was surprised to find that she didn't sound particularly good even at the height of her fame.

I have watched young prodigies shred on guitar up and down the neck playing arpeggio after arpeggio like robots. While it is impressive from a technical standpoint their music does nothing for me. I feel no emotion like I do when I hear B.B. King take 3 notes and wear them out with so many different nuances its like he played over 100.
The same could be said about child actors. How many child.actors have become screwed up as adults?????
Does this wet blanket suggest these outstanding early performers should be discouraged or suppressed?
