FLORENCE, Arizona — “Nobody does,” Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told Breitbart News when asked who has operational control of this region of the United States of America.
Babeu was on a helicopter tour of Mexican drug cartel scout locations in caves in the side of mountains throughout the desert about 70 miles inside the U.S. border. Essentially, that means U.S. sovereignty is gone for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of square miles throughout the American southwest.

This could be handled and dealt with in less than a month, if that. Every state has battle tested and hardened National Guard troops that could handle those guys without breaking a sweat. Just have to have the resolve to get something done.

That is a scary thought but I don't think he is exaggerating.

Maybe he is talking about just Arizona’s border.
I wouldn’t try to retake our border with Mexico with less than 20,000 troops.

You are exactly right! They would be a formidable enemy if it ever comes down to that. Right now the ROE are a joke, primarily to prevent entering into a shooting war with them even though they have effectively made a 40 mile swath north of the border a lawless “no-man’s land”.

Though he seems to be learning, I’m not too keen on Dr Carson’s slow grasp of 2A issues.

Asked by Beck for his thoughts on the Second Amendment, Carson gave the popular pro-gun argument: “There’s a reason for the Second Amendment; people do have the right to have weapons.”
But when asked whether people should be allowed to own “semi-automatic weapons,” the doctor replied: “It depends on where you live. I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it,” Carson elaborated. However, if you live “out in the country somewhere by yourself” and want to own a semi-automatic weapon, he added, “I’ve no problem with that.”
