A high carb diet will not cause weight loss.

Consider the diet recommended for feed animals to gain weight quickly is exactly the same diet the usda is pushing on people to be healthy and lose weight on. The amounts of carb servings recomended by usda is criminal.

Good point. That said, I need a HIGH fiber diet. In fact, I need a high NON-SOLUBLE FIBER diet...perhaps a keg of prune juice would do the job.

Yep. I am on a high protein low (complex) carb diet (no bread or starches).

Miserable diet but boy does it work.

I break it once or twice a month. But it still works like a charm.

My stomach and gut likes non-soluble fiber. Gets rid of everything ASAP...but leaves you feeling full.

You can maintain and lose weight if you just make an effort to keep carbs under 100 grams a day.

Ice cream?? Yum, but sounds … counterproductive :-)

Well, I do find that the juice does tend to satisfy appetite, although other things do as well.

Thanks! Will look into that. Am still learning about Paleo and learning to discern what is true Paleo from what is not or whether it matters. Here's a Paleo place I enjoy and learn lots from:

http://nomnompaleo.com

Paleo is not as easy to learn as one might think! But the service above is fantastic.

Paleo can look like this:

Joe’s Part 2 film that follows this one is also great but I don’t know if it’s free yet. You should see it I think before embarking on a commitment to rid yourself of migraines. Good luck!

Paleo - knocked off 30 pounds and have kept if off for + years

Really though, just eat food at the most basic level - one ingredient or less :-)

It’s all in the mind. Just make sure we are ratcheting up the nutrients in some fashion and the body will work its magic. And then there should be a commitment to exercise.

I’m a meat lover myself. I avoid starches but I discovered something that I think is wonderful and easy:

FRENCH FRIES!

LOL! But fried in Coconut Oil!

I could not believe how good they tasted and no coconut after taste, none!

Coconut oil has the Omega 3’s that are so good for the brain and heart, and it has a very high burn point, much much hugher than my fryer.

I keep the coconut oil in the fryer covered up. When I make the fries I preheat it for 10 minutes, hand slice my fries from Russet Potatos and then fry for 8 to 10 minutes. This should win a Nobel Prize or something, they are so good!
