Yes, you are correct about Josh. From a Biblical perspective, he deserves to loose his family. I don’t think anyone blamed the sisters for his evil. I can see why the sisters want to try and help, but I think they are just as horrified as everyone else...
His religion does. It blames the victims for being raped/molested. It says it’s their fault for not dressing modestly even at 2 years old!

These people are just sick. Think about the above statement. As a father does Josh see his baby daughters without their diapers on? Answer is he has to. About now you should be getting cold chills up your spine. If Anna had any brains, which she does not, she’d be long gone.
Everyone thinks perfection should run in the family. Remember, even the Prophet SAMUEL had sons who were less than honorable.
Can you imagine the MSM of that day proclaiming...Let’s kick Samuel because his kids are not up to standard!
I think you have to be careful reading some of these news sites. They can misquote people and portray them in an almost evil light. The Duggar family is a great, Godly American family. A throwback to what most American families used to be like. Years back, I knew a few families that went to a Gothard seminar or two, but they got out once they found out what he was a about. They are great American families and love God, they just got misled for a short time...

I have seen this information on several news sites. I think the first I saw it on was DailyMailUk but I don’t think they were the first to report it.
As for “good Christians” oh please! Saying that about them makes my stomach turn. I need a sodium bicarbonate.
We do know they did not report Josh’s molesting of the girls for at least a year. The parents did not take the girls in for a rape forensics when they found out what Josh did. They never took the girls for counseling, only took Josh for so called “treatment” to a center ran by a man who had to step down because he had molested about 15 girls.
Someone said the other day that all this makes Christians “look bad” and you know what? I said this to them and will say it again, I have thought that from the get go. These so called “Reality shows” are scripted! Anyone who thinks differently is fooling themselves. Plus I really believe TLC knew about Josh, and knew at some time this would come out. They wanted to portray “Christians” in this light. Then people would point their finger at them and say “see see Christians have pedophiles and wife cheaters too”. (among other things)
You want a good Christian show with a large family to watch???? Seriously? Watch Re-runs of The Waltons! I promise you John-Boy Walton did not carry on the way Josh did/is doing. For the record “The Waltons” was based on a true family. I believe they lived in Tennessee? during the depression. I know that “John-Boy” was really named “Clay-Boy”.
And as far as these Duggars being promoted as "Christian". They might be Christians but their testimony is clearly ruined.
I think in retrospect, they would most likely have rethought reality TV.

The abuse the sisters endured was prior to the tv show. They went on tv knowing they had a serial abuser in the family.

I stopped pretending I knew the truth about what is in people’s hearts, or behind their closed doors, when the friendliest, give the shirt off your back, deeply religious and father of a toddler he adored took his own life.

Think for a second just what that “testimony” has been in the media, more so for young teen girls!
We as Christians, in the pro life cause want them to wait until they get married to have sex right? We tell women to “save themselves” until marriage have we not? This is exactly what Anna did as was seen on their so called “reality show”. Well Anna did and look what it got her! A husband who is a pedophile who views porn and cheats on her with porn stars using several fake web pages.
Do you think young people are not watching this??? Do you think they are not going to turn back and say to us “Well why wait to we are married or why get married at all because I might just end up with a creep like Josh Duggar?” Then what will you say???? Have you all no idea just how far this man/family have drug the image of marriage into the ground?
There is good reason this guy wasn’t invited to those weddings I guess. :p

You are right that this is a terrible object lesson for girls and young women. There’s supposed to be a “deal”: if you are virtuous, if you marry a Christian young man approved by your parents, if you commit yourself to homemaking and reject “feminism,” then you will be safe. You and your children will have a reasonable security, and you will be with respect, as a virtuous woman should be.
This situation is a stark reminder that there are no guarantees. You can end up with a nutcase, with a disaster, and with no security for yourself or your children. Not only that, however. The public commentary on the situation, including that on FR, in many ways sends the message that there is absolutely no respect for a virtuous wife. Quite a few justify the adultery based on the assumption that she was an inadequate sexual service provider, which assumption is “proved” by the fact of his cheating. (This is not unique to the Duggar situation but comes up in every reported case of adultery.)
This situation also exposes a dark side of “conservative Christianity” or the idol of the “traditional family”: that in spite of all the praise of the “Proverbs 31 Woman,” there really is nothing but sex. Being a loyal wife, a good mother, a pillar of your church, a thrifty housekeeper ... none of that matters. FReep the Ten Commandments, FReep the “Proverbs 31” ... there is really nothing in a marriage but sex.
The only upside I can think of is that most young people aren’t going to know anything about this. It’s simply not on their radar. I hear there’s supposed to be a new Iron Maiden tour ... or was it Metallica? Or both? Fallout Boy is adding new concert dates!
