Trump represents the uprising of the abused and disrespected citizen. Donald Trump is the symbol of an American Spring. There is no way, short of violence, the DC cartel can stop his juggernaut now.

Your Trump hatred has shortcircuited your reading comprehension...which lacked a little something to begin with.

There’s some kind of deja vu thing going on...this sounds so familiar!

So, Trump supporters are like 4-year-olds who believe in Santa Claus?

No, you are.

Well said and bears repeating:

Trump represents the uprising of the abused and disrespected citizen. Donald Trump is the symbol of an American Spring. There is no way, short of violence, the DC cartel can stop his juggernaut now.

As Rush just said, the only thing that will stop Trump now is Trump.

Americans are frustrated, aggravated and disappointed. I learned early in my career that anger seethes under each. The rage has exponentially worsened since Nothing was done to Stop Obama after the Nov, 14 election. We're all concerned about the direction the country has been steered by the progressives over the years with Obama putting it on fast forward.

We all see Trump as putting the brakes on, putting the 57' Chevy in reverse, turning around and heading back to Make America Great Again.

If you saw point 22. Above I would say he doesn’t much care for the constitution.

Trump represents the establishment trying to blunt ant uprising. Trump offers nothing except recycled socialist and an uncontrolled ego. He puts Hillary and Jeb
in the driver’s seat.

So the maverick anti-establishment guy, that the establishment is desperately trying to slander and slight in any way possible, is actually working FOR the establishment, to help the establishment to deal with the huge anti-establishment mentality in the electorate today. Mm-hmm.

Do you even read what you write?

Isn’t maverick the word the McCain used to describe himself? In that sense, yes, Trump is like him.

Only media is claiming Trump is anti-establishment. If you research beyond the drivel the media puts out you see it’s all smoke and mirrors. Trump is just a narcissist who is firmly in the establishment.

All that does is reinforce what most anti-Trumpers are saying: That his conservatism magically began in 2011 when he decided he wanted to run for office. It doesn’t prove anything any more than taking Romney’s most recent flip flops in the last election as proof of conservatism does.

Trump’s followers will point to Reagan here as proof that you can change your stripes, and they’re right. The difference though is that Reagan also proved himself as a governor first. He showed that his change of stances were true. Trump isn’t willing to do that though. He wants people to take him at his word with no proof, and that is what bothers us. If this new conservative Trump spent a single term as a governor or even mayor of NYC and showed his conservatism was legitimate, I’d be willing to support him.

The article headline is right though, most of us anti-Trumpers think this matters to his followers. It doesn’t. Most don’t seem to care if he’s a conservative or not as long as he talks tough and fights the establishment.

If Trump wins the presidency he will be in a unique, somewhat precarious position.

He will have a hostile Congress & Senate. The Democratic hostility will be obvious, yet the Republican opposition will be the more dangerous & unpredictable. Boehner & McConnell will not be his friends.

This leaves Trump with one support group, a powerful one - the people who elected him - the American people. Trump has made a bunch of promises to these people on immigration, trade, jobs, the Iran deal, etc. They expect positive results.

If Trump reneges on these promises he will lose his public support fast. If he tries political double talk, the public will recognize it. If he fails to produce on his promises he could be the earliest lame duck in history & a shamed one-term president.

For this reason, & because I believe Trump is an honorable man, he is bound to the positions he has taken in the campaign. Further, he is too proud to be in the league of political liars & losers.

I agree with what you said and would add that Trump would use the power of the bully pulpit in a way that none of the others could.

He will have already taken on, and won, against the democrats, GOPe, and the media.
