Congressional Republicans are coming up with every excuse imaginable to avoid having to defund Planned Parenthood. Right now they’re going with the “let’s investigate” card. They think that if they just probe deeply enough they’ll have enough ammunition to attack the Democrats.
Yes, that would be the exact same Democrats who have seen the same videos everyone else has seen and decided it is no big deal.
Conservatives in Congress are gearing up for a fight on this issue against their own leadership. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 58% in the Senate is convinced that a government shutdown by President Obama would hurt the GOP.

It is horrific that Republican leaders in Congress are happy to keep funding organ harvesting efforts instead of doing the right thing because of possible political ramifications. Is it any wonder Donald Trump is kicking the GOP’s ass?
I have been merely ignoring requests for funds from the Republican Party. Now I will stuff their postage-paid reply envelopes with as much as I can fit in crap paper and send them back. Death of a thousand paper cuts.

Always was and always will be. I also like when they scream ‘pragmatic’ as a defense. Which is just another word for ‘situational ethics’. Which isn’t pro life/conservative by any definition.
In other words, no change in the “Republican ‘leadership’ strategy”: “investigate, but no action, feign outrage and kick the can down the road.
Boehner has been trying to gain traction with the investigation excuse. If Breitbart is accurate about Boehner’s precarious position as speaker, McConnell might not be the one who decides. Additionally, I think Cruz, and Trump are ramping up to use the GOP surrender to add rocket fuel to their campaigns. I think this September might actually be interesting, politically speaking.

Just tried to send another email to Cornyn. The Senate mailbox is “down for maintenance”. Too bad it’s not the Senators that are being sent out for maintenance - they could use a brain transplant or lobotomy!
