Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump accused China on Tuesday of one of the greatest thefts in the history of the world and said he could fix the problem by drawing on the negotiating skills laid out in his 1987 bestseller The Art of the Deal.
I do great with the Chinese, Trump told an audience at a campaign rally in Dubuque, Iowa. And theyre great people. The problem is their leaders are too smart for our leaders.
Im a big believer in free trade. I like free trade. But its not good if we have dummies.
The China lines, which amplified an argument that Trump has been making to large audiences for weeks, drew forceful applause. But they were more than crowd-pleasing barbs dropped into an extemporized stump speech.
The attacks on China, and the analysis attached to them, are undergirded in the somewhat mysterious construct that is the Trump presidential candidacy by actual, albeit sketchy, economic policy proposals. And analysts suggest these could threaten a trade war with China that would rearrange the global economy, with serious ramifications for the US.

It makes sense. Always the same talking points, ALWAYS - just like an MSNBC hack or a union thug troll. Never answering questions, dittos. Never ever learning anything? Check. Never ever agreeing that our own liberalism is what discourages hiring on shore, like union thugs - double check. No ability to define either a "trade deficit" or "globalism?" Yep, check on that too. You may be right 1010.
Unsupported presumption with no factual or logical data to back it up.
Your second paragraph is just as invented as the first. A farm has just as much secondary economic activity as a factory. Actually, a factory may have less as it is producing a finished product. It's the raw material resource extraction that starts the process. Everything is secondary from that point, so actually since a farm is a raw material resource provider you're doubly wrong.
What you don't know about and still haven't learned about basic economics could fill a library.
Blah blah blah.
You guys never get tired of finding some other way, to avoid being for American workers.
I produce goods and services, but that’s irrelevant to the discussion. The poster I disagree with is a liar. I disagree with it because it lies.
Correct, it’s very funny that people confuse economic reality, the natural results of the world around us and our relationship with it, to the government’s attempt to alter that reality.
Those distortions should make you cry, though.
Your history of posts indicates that you know nothing of classical economics. It’s like denying gravity or that W=VA. You post like a union steward or BA.
See 1010- CNN proving our point. Not a single intellectual point can he make. Not one. Not ever. He and central are like the special needs cousins at the family reunion...always saying the same old tired and boring jokes - and then pretending like they were funny and original.
CNN, what those of us above triple digit IQs understand is that tariffs KILL jobs net and penalize all consumers period, end of discussion. You are the one killing millions of jobs in the hopes of saving a few hundred. But of course, you haven't the IQ to understand that, nor any intellectual curiosity whatsoever.
GIGO. Define classical economic theory and fascism.
Think what you could know if you’d only taken economics and math seriously. I’d never guess you were an EE by your posts.
I am absolutely for the American worker. Let’s lower the cost of labor by eliminating redundant and wasteful regulations. Reforming the legal labor system here. Reducing payroll taxes and the pressure government places on payment, despite business cashflow constraints.
Heres a true story: a woman whod worked for a company for 28 years developed MS. She asked for an accommodation under federal law. The corporation didnt make the accommodation and were in fact pretty unfair with her. They fired her. At the time of her firing her salary was $48 grand a year.
She took the violation up with the EEOC. She laid claim to two additional years of pay. What did the company owe her? They were jerks for certain and made little effort to accommodate a person who up until the time of the manifestation of her disease had been a good worker. The EEOC found a violation of federal law and the arbitration granted her $2 million dollars, plus attorneys fees. The feeling was that they really needed to be punished. Is that a fair settlement?
That’s 41 years of salary for her or for someone else. Who pays for that?
Note bene: CNN will never answer the question nor fault government.
I’m not sure what it means.
Good example, but later.
YES, indeed - and not only am I for the American worker as described above, I know the American worker doesn't need punitive tariffs if we would just do what you say above. And sure as hell the American consumer doesn't need everything inflated artificially. The idea that we need big time tariffs is the soft bigotry of low expectations.....
I don’t agree with your economic dogma so that makes me stupid? You are a brainwashed idiot who can’t even see the economic destruction happening in front of your fat face.
‘No replies’ is CNN’s favorite reply when it comes to actual facts and thinking. When you’ve got a bunch of Democrats managing a FR account to the benefit of their party, they cannot afford an error. Thus the robotic cut and paste answers that have fooled so many for so long.
Is it the jobs or the race of the owners of the job creation factories that bother’s you Dennis? The more I talk to you anti-free trade guys, the more you sound like union Democrats the most racist bunch around.
Let’s say you’re wholly correct and that classical economics is a tool of fascism. Given your contention that the last 30 years has proven classical economics is all bunk, you should be able to prove it and simply.
What is it about classical economics that makes it fascist (you might want to check the definition)? Is it the supply/demand curves that you disagree with? Preferences in human choice? The production frontier curve?
With your economic acumen you should be able to demonstrate the failings of the free market. I mean you’ve got way more than 30 years of data. But, you won’t prove a thing because you cannot.
Fascism is a socialist read big government system. Every country that moves away from it gets richer. Every country that moves toward freer trade gets richer. It’s a clear cut case and your economics, perhaps you studied at Lenin U. in Moscow, is what’s bunk.
If you are anti white America that built this nation then you are the racist. THINK about that Mr Phony Baloney One Worlder Free Traitor!!! I say this nicely because you are civil though naive and stupid.
The only libertarian free trade I believe in is within the borders of the United States. NOT with our economic rivals and enemies and NOT signing onto chump trade deals that increase our trade deficit
It likes centralized power, it likes monopolies, it likes regulations, it likes taxes.
I could go on but the linkage between the classical economic theory( a theory that does not take into account differing cultures, borders and political systems) would work perfectly in a model where there was ONE central world government and no international borders and one currency. The fascists goal is compatible with that theory.
Subject worthy of a book....
CNN, explain to me how the sugar tariff has benefited American workers. Perhaps I’m wrong about the whole private property and free trade thing.
Otherwise, stop shilling for unions.
You've had an entire seven days to contemplate my post. Do you now know what my good example means?
