Barack Obama has set the new standard for what the qualifications to be president are.

And by these standard Cruz is way overqualified.

Ted Cruz is more like our Founders than almost anyone I know today, which means he very easily could leave everyone in the dust.

Enter, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, whose critics scoff that he lacks the experience to be president. “What has Ted Cruz accomplished?” they sneeringly ask.

I’ve actually seen some dim-wits here at FR ask that. Its appalling how ignorant some people are.

You elected the homo, twice, and you have the nerve to ask if Cruz is qualified? Using Obama as a standard, my cocker spaniel is qualified.

Does it really matter this year?

Come to think of it, did it really matter last time or the time before that or the time before that?

The most "experienced" nominees of the last 10 years were McCain and Kerry. Neither was a very good candidate and neither would have made a very good president.

So, yeah, Ted Cruz doesn't have as much experience as he should, but that doesn't really seem to be as important as it once did.

Experiencewise, Cruz 2016 has Obama 2008 beat (though that's not saying much).

The qualifications for president are:
35 years of age or older
14 years residence in the U.S.
Natural Born Citizen (currently defined as a statutory “Citizen of the United States at Birth”)
Get 270 electoral votes

That’s it.

The person that is elected by the people is qualified. In fact its the only qualification that counts.

I trust Cruz to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America more than anyone else in the running.
That is my litmus test.

Cruz is far more qualified than 0bama was. Or Romney. Or Comrade Juan McNuts for that matter.

Considering the fact that he accomplished more than the entirety of congress has done in the past decade BEFORE he was even elected. I’d have to say yes.

Cruz has read the bill of rights and the constitution.

Not one Rat in the last 50 years can say that.

Ted Cruz is a natural born U.S. citizen over the age of 35. Those are the constitutional qualifications, so Cruzz is qualified.

George Washington was ranked second and Dwight Eisenhower was seventh. Neither one of them had any political executive experience before being elected to the highest office in all the land.

Being the Supreme Commander of an entire armed force is both an executive and political experience. Furthermore, Washington was a delegate to both Continental Congresses, and elected President of the Second one.
