Adopt a pitbull, they are so misunderstood. (Vanity)

I know some on FR have a bias against Pit Bulls, but they are the nicest animals on Earth, IMO.

Also I will probably get banned for stating this, but the crazy liberal Huffington Post should be congratulated for their advocacy of pit bulls.

I am a Trump/Cruz leaning conservative, but don't understand the hatred against this breed.

If you want to pretend that pits are gentle creatures and simply a product of their environment and not what they are bred for ...more power to you....

I already know different....reality has proved different...

A dog of ANY breed is still an animal....not a child, or a family member....an animal.

Giving human characteristics to an animal is a liberal thing...animals are not human....and as much as I love my dogs.....I know if I died in my house they would eventually eat me for food.....where as I would never kill them for food. People need to get a grip on reality.

BTW...yes I can still feel MORE empathy for a human child attacked by a dog than the damned DOG.

Do You?

Or did the child “deserve” it?

So then you would necessarily agree that comparing “pit bulls” to murderous Muslimes who willfully, wantonly, with full knowledge, forethought and intellectual understanding of the actual deed, slaughter innocent people is indeed, anthromorphizing the dogs?

The actual breed is a decent dog. What people associate with the name arose from backyard breeding drug dealers and assorted other miscreants selecting for aggression.

Sure...accept for the killing part.

They are bred to kill....environment might prevent that....but that doesnt ignore the breeding.......much like young muzzys are bred to kill Infidels...they dont all do it....but some do....so should we ignore the breeding?

And thanks for totally ignoring the meat of my post.

Ok....I'm getting “post driven”....

How does one promote the peaceful nature of pitbulls while still ignoring the mauling and deaths by pitbulls?

“cognitive dissonance” Just because other pitbulls have killed or mauled children doesnt mean mine will....

Sorry...I'm a "realist"...meaning I base my view of reality...upon reality.....I'm not willing to take the damn chance that a pit wont maul my children, or a neighbor....because they are sweet and roll over to have their tummy scratched.... But too many ignorant people will....and then later claim they had no idea that pitt would be capable of mauling a child. nope......you have been warned....ignore the warning at your own peril....or at the peril of someone you love. Dont play innocent later.

There was no “meat” to ignore.

You have proved my point, handily, thanks.

No Muslim [or any other human] is “bred” to kill.

They’re taught, nay, *trained* to kill from an early age.

Much like the dogs you decry.

Difference is, a human can make informed choices based on observations and is able to reason things out, for themselves.

Animals are incapable of moral judgment.

I’m sorry but you cannot have it both ways.

Either we anthorpmorphize them levelly or we do not do it, at all, *not* only when it “suits us” to do so.

Inconsistency is the devil in the details.

Just as an excercise in curiosity, would you support the abortion of unborn Muzzie babies, since they’re going to grow up and possibly kill somebody, anyway?

“Miscreants”.

I love euphemisms.

I would then heartily suggest you take your own advice and never own a dog.

Because, dear heart, ALL dogs have teeth.
All dogs can bite.
All dogs can kill.

Every dog on earth has that potential, even the “tiny” ones.
[Google Pomeranian kills baby]

Do not seek to “warn” me or accuse me of “ignorance”.

You have *no* idea whom you are dealing with.

:)

There needs to be an update to the drink game, for the word “peril”, should it appear in one sentence, more than an arbitrary number of times.

You could call it The Alarmist Addendum.

Let me say this again....since you seem dense...

ALL DOGS ARE ANIMALS AND NOT HUMAN.

Any Idea that you dog “loves you” is pure fantasy....if you are the alpha in your house...your dog will exhibit traits of submission...if you are not...the dog will exhibit traits of dominance.....the problem is that your children are not the alpha....you are.....and that animal wont see your child as the alpha in the pack...they will see them as part of the pack.....and part of the pecking order of the pack...

And quite seriously....if you dont understand the basic nature of animal behavior....you shouldnt own a dog...or a cat or even a ferret.

I’ve owned dogs my whole life....even had to choke my chow out before for getting aggressive with a guest....but I understand that I am the alpha in the pack....I make the rules.....my dog does not make the rules.
