Do you think Trump actually wrote those books?

LOL! If that's the main point you got, you need to get your money back from the speed reading and comprehension class.

GO CRUZ!!! Keep it up Trump!

“He will support all illegals only to readmit those he likes.”

That use to be the standard immigration protocol, before the nation lost its mind. He has described the kind he likes, which are the ones who can contribute to the country, not the ones who will need help. Read between the lines.

Admitting Mexicans under a tightly controlled work visa also used to be standard immigration protocol. No government subsidies, no pathways to citizenship.

Count me as a 1.

The man is a buffoon, a narcissist, and every time he compares himself to Reagan, it makes me sick..

You were against him here on FR were you not? Sorry, if I am confusing you with somebody else. And not that you weren’t entitled to your opinion!

I notice his publisher is a conservative house.

Do you think Trump actually wrote those books?

Who cares who actually wrote them? Do you think that most books by famous people are written by themselves?

There is so much "editing and collaboration" that there is rarely a book 'written' by the author.

If you have to explain it with such a lengthy pist, maybe it’s not such a hot idea after all.

I am for Trump. I don't think he is a conservative at heart. He has supported too many left wing things in his past and even present. However he is the only one out there who is perhaps capable of getting the overwhelming votenecessary to possibly overcome what will be a truly awesome DOJ-enforced vote fraud and New Citizen vote. If he is joined by Cruz as VP it is a combination that just might have the right direction and the force of character to do what needs to be done.

Alas, I have not heard any suggestion from either man or anyone else that the first thing the new Dictator, and that is what will be elected, must do is abolish the EPA and half a dozen other Agencies, and the next thing he must do is persuade the States to immediately call that Article 5 Convention and take back power from Washington. When those two things are accomplished he should resign after calling a new Election. Do I thank these things will happen? No, not really, but Trump is the only one who can make it all happen and I have to hope that he will do it.

Trump says he will "bring back American jobs" but has suggested the way to do that is with tariffs. Tariffs would be counterproductive as they would chase more industries out of America as they would isolate the American market and would reduce exports as other countries retaliate with their own tariffs. See Smoot-Hawley and its aftermath.
Both Trump and my favorite, Cruz, have expressed intentions to continue the immigration insanity in one way or another.

Trump might even get some votes from union members.

Like Reagan did.    Reagan coalition

I am all for tariffs.

Completely so. Bring back American production.

We need to support American manufacturing again.

Smoot-Hawley was in another world. America dominated production at the time.

Now we’re buying everything imported.

“It is not that we hate the GOPe so much that we would vote for the devil if he put a curse on Mitch McConnell, ...”

I rather think it is that. If folks can’t understand who Trump is by what he has done, then conservatism in America is toast:

Here’s my reasons, in order, for supporting Trump, warts and all:

1. The only one who wants to build a wall, patrol the border and DEPORT illegal scum that are tearing our country apart and setting us up for permanent socialist rule.

2. The only candidate who can completely dismantle political correctness. Cruz is pretty good at it too, but Trump can take this much further. PC is what keeps all conservative thought from being consumed by the mainstream. Students today can complete college and never hear a conservative point of view unless it is fed to them by a liberal who skews it.

3. The economy, taxes and military. I think he will shine here.

OF course, I've come to value your opinion on matters over the years, along with many others here. Some, like Cinncinatus wife oppose Trump fervently. I respect that, but the man has been consistent in many areas for years, esp as it applies to our inability as a country to do the best for our people. He's for: 1. Lower energy costs with gas exploration in the USA optimized. 2. Free markets but with a level playing field 3. Wants to insource jobs here. 4. Immigration is on target. 5. Put the best people in place and reduce gov't waste. To name just a few things.

Tariffs will not bring back American production. They will chase the big employers and big industries that remain out of the country because their exports will suffer from tariffs- all the other countries will retaliate with tariffs and there will be a tariff war that will chop world trade to Smoot-Hawley induced levels i.e. hard DEPRESSION. All the problems you see with American jobs trace directly to the highest tax rate on business in the Industrialized world and insane amounts of bureaucratic regulation. Eliminate the EPA and the other regulatory agencies and cut or eliminate the taxes on business including the taxes on income earned outside of the country and America will become once again, and quickly, the world hub of production and high paying jobs.

A conservative calling for tariffs thinks the rest of the world is at fault for our economic problems because they sell too much to America. Well they can sell to America because their costs of production are lower and that conservative wants revenge, not prosperity. Labor is only one of those costs and not the most significant one. Subtracting the regulatory and tax burden is far more important. At least equalize that burden with the rest of the world and the American worker becomes again the most productive worker in the world and thus cheaper at higher wages i.e. more efficient, and jobs do not leave America any more. Remove the burden and we suck production and money out of the rest of the world and the boom will be greater than the Reagan Boom and will last until we self-flagellate by piling up the regulations and taxes again.

I disagree.

We currently run a 342 billion / year deficit with China, and that is still growing.

We buy everything from China.

Enough. Bring back jobs to America.

I was very skeptical of him at first. Now I’m onboard. I think he can and will win all 50 states. Yes, all 50 states. If he has Cruz or Carson as a running mate, this place is going to rock!

I thought one of his ideas was pretty good, and did not entail tariffs. We accept imports from other countries at the same level they accept exports from us. Right now Japan, China, Mexico, et al, are dumping outrageous amounts of their stuff on us, with very little allowed in from our Country.

He also advocates changes to our tax structure which will encourage repatriation of manufacturing back to America. JOBS. Gainfully employed Americans making good money and paying reasonable taxes.

NOt sure what you mean. I don’t think people have taken the time to read the man’s words. Thought I’d help in that regard.
