New research suggests that half of all U.S. adults have diabetes or pre-diabetes.
Almost 40 percent have pre-diabetes, meaning elevated blood sugar levels that could lead to full-fledged disease. Studies have shown lifestyle changes can delay or prevent diabetes in these people.
Let's cut the crap and define "lifestyle changes" because it's simple: Stop eating fast carbohydrates.
You've been systematically lied to about what should be on your plate. The old "food pyramid" was not only wrong it was basically inverted from reality with one exception -- "sweets." Breads and cereals, as with starchy vegetables like potatoes, are virtually indistinguishable from table sugar in terms of their metabolic impact yet the "advice" is to eat the most of them with "vegetables" and "fruits" being the next up.
In short you've been slow poisoned over all these years -- and still are being today if you follow the so-called "MooShell Plate" advice.
Now here's the hypothesis you're not going to like, predicated on two facts: The food industry makes the most money advertising and selling "foods" that are (1) cheap to make and (2) expensive on the store shelf and (3) produce a dependency relationship -- that is, a pleasurable reaction from eating them followed by a "crash" that leaves you wanting more.
The medical industry makes the most money from chronic conditions that force you back into the doctor's office for what begins as a manageable process but over time escalates until you are literally bled dry from morbidity and disease. Diabetes is the perfect vehicle for this; ...
Now what possible explanation do you think exists, given the evidence available over the last 50+ years that has been intentionally ignored, for the entire medical industry trying to convince you to not eat that bacon and eggs or steak, ...

Beef. It’s not just for breakfast anymore.
Look around - we’re a nation of out-of-shape, overweight, fat-asses.
Here’s my hypothesis: people, especially governments, like to gin up phony crisis so they make up obviously false stats to get support ($$$). Anybody that thinks 40% of the populace has diabetes is quite simply a moron. That study is a lie.
“Acceptable” blood sugar levels have been creeping down based on statements by the American Diabetes Association which is supported in large part by.... the drug companies!
I have cut out all wheat breads and cereals. I feel a million times better
And I lost 30 pounds
No white food.
Stay away from pasta, sugars, too much salt, rice and with a little exercise you will stay fit and thinner.
I need to change things personally. I was 175 with a 51 heart rate. Now I am after marriage, inactivity, finding sodas and eating too much I am 230 with a 72 heart rate.
I know I need to cut portions, I don't need soda and other things but I find it is addictive as heck.
I will agree with anyone here about push aways, absence of sugars and exercising more, but it isn't easy and I honestly find it tough.
My wife occasionally does Medifast. Good program but one can only eat so long that stuff.
I think it comes down to basically change your will power to stop things at a certain point and to change things.
Always easier said than done IMO.
Knowledge is easy to acquire. Implementation is a tough one. Government can't make people do anything unless they make it part of getting the dole, but many like myself have never been on the dole.
I also have to get bone removed from the heel of my foot that is on my Achilles so I can run again for exercise. I came down with this goofy thing almost no one gets and if I take a good first step my Achilles could go POP.
I won the bad lottery on my foot. I'd rather have won the real lottery, though my wife is that to a large extent. :-)
>> That study is a lie.
It is and it isn’t. Yes, 40% do have “pre-diabetes”, whatever that REALLY is. People also have pre-heart disease, pre-stroke, pre-cancer, and women have pre-pregnancy.
Likewise, 3 in 5 college girls will be raped, sexually assaulted, or stared at. We hear the rape part and say, “Oh my! That’s horrible.” But, most of those 3 will only be stared at.
Statistics is a cheap whore who will do anything for anyone for the right price. Only a fool asks them to go steady. People who believe these kind of studies are trying to put a ring on that whore.
I love beef. - land locked Midwestern boy.
Eat everything else. Bacon. Meat. Vegetables. More bacon. Eggs. Butter.
Two years ago my Doctor, and the test results, said that I was pre-diabetes. I decided that I was going to keep my toes and never poke myself with insulin. I have lost and kept off 60 pounds and my blood sugar is in the low 80’s most days, with the occasional 90’s reading.
Simple plan: Eat far less carbs, sweat more. I’m 58, so yeah, it can be done.
It’s like they always say: there’s lies, damned lies, and statistics.
Right, because I go to “market-ticker.org” for my all my nutritional advice :P
Anybody who has done even a little research on processed foods and nutrition would agree with you...
Food manufacturers are killing us...not on purpose, just for profits...
We’ve been lied to and that’s all this pre-diabetes crap. The CDC and NIH has been lowering and lowering the blood sugars levels so - viola!- more and more people fit into the high blood sugar category.
Same thing with cholesterol and obesity. They keep lowering the targets to get more “normal” people caught into their web of maintenance medications until you die.
Then, once they have you hooked on maintenance meds and Obamacare leads us to single payer, guess what? That’s right. The government forcing you to comply with any number of “health” mandates (gun control, vegetarianism, etc.) or they will take away your meds.
That’s your future, America. And you’ll fall for it like so many lemmings.
My wife discovered (after years of not feeling right) that she has celiac disease. Cutting out gluten from wheat products resulted in her feeling waaaaaay better and as bonus she dropped a few pounds.
It said diabetes or pre-diabetes. I have always believed that carbs and high fructose corn syrup are the reason there is so much obesity and diabetes and I think the gov’t is partially to blame for teaching kids that all those carbs are good for you.
Yup...I am type II and stopped taking the poison proscribed to me to knock down my sugar...
I watch closely what I eat, I’m averaging somewhere between 120 to 135 every morning....or lower..
30 years ago, I would be considered a bit over normal...
Sounds good.
Moderation & variety in your diet and exercise. That is all you need to know. But the diet gurus can not make any money off that.
