Boeing near deal to open 737 delivery center in China

Final assembly of the 737 airframes will remain in Renton, which employs about 12,000 people, about half of those production workers.

However, those jets destined for Chinese carriers — between a quarter and a third of all 737s built — will be flown empty to a new Chinese facility for installation of interiors, exterior painting, customer flight tests and delivery, according to the person familiar with the plan.

Such a deal would create Boeing’s most significant overseas commercial-aircraft venture, granting it new leverage in the world’s biggest aviation market.

Though Boeing has long had an extensive global supply chain, this would be the first time its jets are to be finished and delivered outside the U.S.

Croney capitalism on display.

When American business talks about capitalism, it usually means free markets for everyone but itself. Thus, the Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers, and big exporters like Boeing are lobbying Congress to approve roughly $18 billion in funding for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) — a backdoor method of seeding foreign economies with money to buy U.S. goods.

“...a backdoor method of seeding foreign economies with money to buy U.S. goods.”

Does that mean, in effect, American taxpayers are footing the bill for the Chi-coms to buy U.S. goods?

America needs to take an assertive position to bring back production to our own country.

Soon.

Yeah, so they can copy all the innovative ideas and sell Chinese made knock-offs for 1/3 the price.

We have got to elect Trump. We’re not going to have anything left if we don’t.

I’ve got an idea, lets teach the ChiComs all our manufacturing technology that way we can take advantage of all their cheap (slave) labor so we can have cheap stuff here, avoid all that costly regulations and enrich all our upper management and large stock holders. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

Yeah, its not like they could buy a 737 and reverse engineer it before this deal!

Do any of you actually THINK before you post?

China is already building its own passenger jets. Boeing and Airbus both want to stay relevant in the Asian market and this is one way.

This is no different than Toyota having assembly plants outside Japan.

To see this as a negative is the ultimate sign of STUPIDITY
