Winner getting booed. Beer cans being thrown at his car. Way to go NUTSCAR.
Totally!!
When the wreck happened Logano was in front. When the flag flew Jr was in front. Ruling?
Junior. Another 100 yards and I was leading.
“Winner getting booed. Beer cans being thrown at his car. Way to go NUTSCAR.”
They were PO’d at the way NASCAR ended the race.
Twitter is going bananas over this.
Talladega is what it is, and that’s what the fans pay for. They REALLY screwed this one up.
I thought Lagano was going to be the bad guy in this.
ALLADEGA. Ala. — Kevin Harvick denied triggering a last-lap wreck Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway to ensure his advancing into the next round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
After one restart was aborted because of a crash before the leaders got to the start-finish line, Harvick, in 10th, was in jeopardy of falling out of the Chase as his motor was about to blow prior to the one attempt to have a green-white-checkered finish.
Didn't Harvick have an obligation to be competitive? If he knew that his engine was blown and he couldn't go more than 50mph, shouldn't he have known he couldn't be competitive and should have pulled out instead of wreck the field to protect his position?
Well I had a “connection crash” as the end got played out.
Mama is PISSED!!!!
I want to see a Side and Top video linked to the Cawshun light before I voice My opinion. Probably never get to...
The shots that NBC showed tells NOTHING for real.
Now on the restart attempt joey is the one that caused the crash by swerving left towards Jr!!!
Harvick DID NOTHING TO CAUSE A CRASH!!!
Yes, NUTSCAR HAS SCREWED THE POOCH AGAIN...
All that said- i’m going with Jr but will admit My bias do the Mama being a Jr Fan so I kinda got to play along. Tony is not in the Game so My Guy is out:(
The Cheez-It 355 at The Glen will return on Aug. 7, 2016. The Sprint Cup race has run consecutively at WGI since 1986. Next summers race weekend will also feature the return of NASCARs second-tier XFINITY Series with the Zippo 200 set for Aug 6.
We are excited to announce our 2016 race weekend dates in conjunction with NASCAR, Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup said in a statement. The Glen always seems to produce great racing as The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup approaches, and we expect our newly repaved track surface to continue the trend in 2016.
In front of one of the events largest crowds in August, Joey Logano propelled past an out-of-gas Kevin Harvick in a last-corner pass to complete the Team Penske drivers historic weekend sweep of NASCARs top two divisions.
Printup said in August they had effectively sold out its 38,900 grandstand seats for the first time this year. He was not at liberty to give out exact attendance totals because Watkins Glen is owned by publicly held International Speedway Corporation but said a crowd in excess of 95,000 attended the event.
The popularity of the Sprint Cup event was reflected in a June USA Today poll, in which readers voted Watkins Glen their favorite NASCAR track.
NASCAR also announced its full 2016 Sprint Cup schedule along with the five-year race guarantees for all 23 of its participating tracks. The move to longer race guarantees was made to grant its tracks some stability and signaled a shift from NASCARs previous policy of granting only year-to-year contracts.
Among the goals that we set out to accomplish with our track partners was to provide consistency for race fans and the industry stakeholders, Steve ODonnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer told nascar.com. The stability of five-year agreements positions us well to deliver fans with schedules as early as possible over the next several years. This is a new approach for our industry, and one that benefits everyone: fans, tracks, teams, drivers, OEMs, media and partners.
The release of the NASCAR date is perhaps the final piece in the puzzle for The Glens 2016 race season.
In August, IMSA announced the 2016 Sahlens Six Hours of The Glen will take place on July 3. The race for the newly-named WeatherTech SportsCar Championship was moved back one week to accommodate IMSA teams returning from the the 24-Hours of Le Mans on June 18-19.
Last week, the Sports Car Club of America announced its U.S. Majors Tour event at Watkins Glen would move off of the Independence Day weekend to June 24-26 for 2016.
Earlier this month, the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association also announced the Glenora Wine Cellars U.S. Vintage Grand Prix would return to its traditional date and run Sept. 8-11. The event was moved up to July this year because of the $12 million paving project, which closed the facilities 3.4-mile circuit shortly after the August NASCAR race weekend.
The paving is part of $35 million in capital improvements made by ISC at Watkins Glen over the last 10 years. That investment has been paying off with a Sprint Cup event that has showed remarkable growth at a time when most NASCAR events have remained flat after dropping in attendance from loftier days before the 2008 recession.
WGI said it would announce ticket sales for the 2016 season soon. Renewal information has been sent to 2015 ticket holders.
