Cubs beat Cards, Royals beat Astros, Rangers beat Rangers, Mets and Dodgers game 5 lovefest tonight!

My Cardinals lost. I'm going to pull for the Cubs to go the whole way!

I was glad to see the Royals win. My hometown of Springfield Missouri used to be a Royals stronghold before The Dark Years. My wife still has a bobblehead of George Brett on the entertainment cabinet.

The Rangers...I don't know what to say. That 7th inning was the strangest and ugliest inning of baseball I've ever seen in my life.

As for tonights game between the Mets and Dodgers, it certainly won't lack for enmity. Don't expect kissing and making up after it's over.

I do not fault Joey Bats for showboating.

Don't want him to showboat, then don't throw him a gopher ball.

The Jays should not have won that game. Three infield errors (should have been four) in one inning! Hamels should have been out of that inning with no damage. Instead the Rangers imploded on an epic scale. I think the Jays are a good team but this would have been a Rangers win had not the Rangers beat themselves. Hence my title.

Go Mets, INDEED.

So cool that the Cubs won. Seeing playoff baseball in Wrigley Field is something else.

Make peace now with your maker. I think its a sign of the apocalypse. The baseball version of the white buffalo calf.

There is no Biblical evidence for this, but I think God’s a baseball fan. Struggle to keep your head above the Mendoza line all year and go 12 for 30 in the playoffs for no reason other than you begged God for a hit.

I’ll bet there are very few atheists in baseball. I don’t know it to be true, but you watch enough of it and you’ll see your share of miracles.

Wished Hamels would have slugged Andrus for that....all that work down the drain, Andrus has been lazy since he signed the big contract, and his numbers, both offensively and defensively, have regressed each year since.

One base open in game 5 why would you pitch to Bautista? The two players I loathe the most in MLB are Bautista and Donaldson, both are drama queens. Not a Royals fan per se, but I am hoping they sweep Toronto.

On top of that, earlier in the game Andrus got thrown out trying to steal third, WITH TWO OUTS! So he really gave away four outs for the entire game.

Hamels kept his cool, at least outwardly. All that damage but only two earned runs for him. I guess that smile on Andrus’s face was embarrassement. But it still pissed me off.

Same here, but how many Cubs fans would ever pull for the Cards?

As for tonight's game between the Mets and Dodgers, it certainly won't lack for enmity. Don't expect kissing and making up after it's over.

I was a Dodger fan for 30 years, but now I HATE ‘em. Worst fans in baseball. VISITING FANS SHOULD NEVER GO TO DODGER STADIUM.

The Rangers should have been buoyed up the the weird run scored In the top of the 7th. Instead they were devastated by it and had 3 errors plus the ‘non-error’ (called fielders choice) that got the first run in. To tie it in the bottom of the seventh. Then they changed pitchers (3 errors and they change pitchers? Really?) then Bang! Zoom! To the moon Joey.

Someone should keep an eye on the Andrus bank account over the next several months...

I don’t get the ‘weird’ run part. In baseball, there is never a ‘dead ball’ as long as it’s on the filed............................

The movie “Eight Men Out”, immediately came to mind....”I’m forever blowing ball games....”

And it’s a little bit hypocritical for Texas to rag on Bautista, after Holland’s tasteless use of the Blue Jays’ towel. Plus when he pitched, he sucked.

It is what it is. Even the ump didn’t recognize it at first and was trying to call time out in the middle of the play. But you don’t call time in the middle of a play...only before.

It was weird cause it was not normal day to day. I agreed with the call but it wasn’t a common play.

One of those ‘once every century’ type plays. I am surprised that the runner on 3rd was alert and cogent enough to recognize his chance to make a run for home...........................
