Should San Francisco build affordable housing just for teachers?
Yes, we need our teachers to live in the same communities as their students
No, teachers shouldn't be favored over others who want to live in the city
Yes, SFUSD can't recruit teachers because the city's cost of living is so high
No, just pay them more so they can afford to live in S.F.

She (supposedly) Allison Leshefsky, teaches PE?
Does she get to shower with the girls or the boys?”
I took one look at the picture and said Good Grief. My grandson was looking over my shoulder and his comment, “A guy named Allison?”.
Guessing half the male teachers in SF would be queers seeking the conquest of their next little boy. Hey, it’s the gay way.
Government workers are already a privileged class/caste with better pay, benefits and pensions than most all other workers, except for the Wall St bankster, Hollywood, entertainment, and some other protected but mostly non-productive sectors.
End the saturation of the labor market by illegals and foreign workers. Give Americans the right to have their wages established by a legal free market, instead of forced into cheap labor servitude by the establishment donor class and politicians wanting to bribe and hijack new voters.
idz fo’ da kidz
You would be surprised. There is so much mis-information dished around by ignorant people. Like wanting California to drop into the ocean, despite most of it except for the coastal cities being conservative. Same goes for San Francisco. There's a minority of vocal gays in the city, heavily into politics. However, there are hundreds of thousands of normal family folks, many with kids. The gay population is declining, and lots of white couples with kids are moving in. Few blacks, low crime and family friendly areas in the city. Parks and the zoo full of children any given day. Go shopping and the sidewalks are crowded with baby strollers.
As for this issue, they're pushing this issue of building housing on school property out where I live (South SF). I'm against it; teachers like anyone else should find their own housing. Maybe they can raise salaries to cover costs, but no way should school land be sacrificed to house teachers.
FReeped!

Affordable Communes?
There’s the answer.
Subsidized housing for the 1 per-centers? What’s up in SF??
Any Old Military Barracks they could put the Teacher’s in?
Since they Teach Marxism, it would give then a first hand look of what it ends of being for the Peons.
Unfortunately, the lib invaders from the northeast did away with all things military around here. My dad was career military. He used to take me around the local bases. The Presidio, Treasure Island Naval Base, Alameda Naval Air Station, etc. Fort Mason is used for various art classes and rentals. There were demilitarized craft in the parks for kids to play on; tanks in the Presidio, jet fighter at a playground on 19th Avenue, etc. All gone, military booted out. They took the military housing on Treasure Island and gave it to low income people. The National Guard Armory on Mission Street that I loved to visit because of all the military vehicles and equipment, is now used as an artists colony (and for making porn movies). Sigh, SF used to be a military town. So no, no more barracks left.
As for the teachings, it seems it's being taught across the country by dem libs, no monopoly on it here.
If they *do it* for teachers ....then firefighters and police are next.
Cry Havoc!
There are mortgage companies offering lower rates and a bonus rebate for being a teacher, cop or fireman. At least here in California. Seems like discrimination to me, yet, no state unions have denounced the practice. Wonder why?
B/c teachers, cops & firefighters have steady jobs.....credit wise, they may be considered a better risk to mortgage underwriters.
Good point. They also have a majority union vote. On the taxpayers money.
Teacher’s unions have become ineffective in Connecticut [I don’t know about other states] ..police and firefighter unions are generally feared and have a great deal of influence in cities and towns, here.
The state gov’t unions- the education, fire fighters, police and corrections officer’s unions in California, are in absolute control, by liberalism in a way- most other folks, cannot begin to fathom. The fed’s also have great sway in this State. California is the gov’t formula model, for the rest of Our Nation, by 2018.
You may have missed my tagline....
It’s my attempt to get the message on a bumper sticker.
Yes. Absolutely.
“Or we could all embrace Existential Cage Theory “
It may be the only viable solution. Nothing else has worked thus far.
