There are not only two schools of possible political thought.
Donald Trump is what is called a populist. His political positions do not follow a coherent underlying pattern. If examined logically many of them should be mutually exclusive no matter what system you come up with to try to reconcile them.
This is neither a conservative nor a liberal, both of which have some degree of inherent consistency.

Carson did say he wanted to eliminate Medicare before it got a negative reaction then seemed to drop it. So Trump isn’t lying.
If I put Immigration and Secure Border at the same level as funding for “Women’s Health Programs”, then I’d probably have a problem with Trump.

The best way to counter hit pieces on a person’s candidate choice is to ignore the hit piece because that is what it is. A hit piece.
