Boating accident - need help replacing CC pistol
Me | 11-17-2015 | Self

Posted on 11/17/2015 9:58:21 PM PST by America_Right

Hi all,

I lost all of my guns this past summer in a tragic boating accident in the middle of Lake Erie, and really need to replace my concealed carry pistol.

Anyway, I was hoping I could get some ideas from you folks as to what I should get. I would like something small enough to fit in a pants pocket without being obvious, but still have some stopping power (.38 or 9mm). Of course, this is just what I would like, not what I necessarily need. If you have any other ideas for concealed carry, please feel free to add them!

Thanks for any suggestions,
AR

Smith & Wesson single stack 9mm. Love it, small for CC and well made...

If you want pocket carry, that probably puts you in the single stack 9mm semi-auto world. Guess it depends on your pockets. I do have a pair of shorts with cargo pockets and a wild enough print I carry my Glock G-19 in them. Hey, don’t judge me and my fashion sense (or lack thereof). Most of the time, if I’m going to be too lazy to put on a holster, I’ll pocket carry a Ruger 380 LCP as a “slightly better than nothing” option. Several good options in the SS 9mm world. I’d go to a retailer and find one that fits and works for you.

Wow, you’re right. Those are cool. Checking out the S&W site now.

These are all pretty good, but I would lean toward the Kahr, Ruger or Sig.

My son carries one of these. He's very skinny and it still doesn't show in his pants pocket.

Here are my smallest guns. Kahr PM9, 9mm, 6+1 lite, a true pocket gun. S&W Airweight, .38spcl, only 5 round cylinder, pretty small, lite and easy to carry. Glock G26, 9mm, 10+1, bigger than the other two, yet pretty small. Kinda tuff to hide in my speedo. Lots of small semi-auto choices out there.

I like the airweight, partly because it can be used 5X right through a pocket or, in Mrs. Joe’s case, a purse. Light, slick profile, too.

Ruger LCR, in .38 spl. Get the Crimson Trace with it. Best stock trigger out there for small revolvers.

Ruger LCR with Crimson Trace laser grips.

It will go bang every time you pull the trigger. This is the greatest single virtue any gun can have.

And in this instance the bullet will go right where the red dot is showing.

Put some Speer short barrel .38s in it and you are prepared.

“I lost all of my guns this past summer in a tragic boating accident in the middle of Lake Erie...”

If you’re that careless maybe you shouldn’t be trusted with a firearm.

Or maybe you could try something with a lanyard ring and a lanyard, like a S&W Victory model or one of the military versions of the P-35.

Have a nice night and a long thread:)

You need to replace your boat also, in case you need to have another "boating accident."

Here's a good replacement. It's a luxury speed boat or a modest fishing vessel, depending on whether you're a NYT subscriber or a Macro Rubio fanboy.

I felt very comfortable purcasing and using a Ruger LC9sPro, which has no safety (except your index finger), a striker, and the same trigger pull every time. For pants pocket, you might want to carry with the chamber empty. You then would have to rack one in to make it go bang.

A .380 frame would be substantially smaller, but might not stop a real brute . . .

A Beretta Bobcat .22LR is not something to sneeze at. It packs a lot of punch and is a quality gun.

AHEM !

I do believe "boating accident" is a metaphor for a different type of concealed weapon

( wink-wink )

I can not fish my lake anymore. It seems to be filled up with weapons lost in multiple tragic boating accidents.
