Getting plugged was the best thing that ever happened to JFK.

November 22nd 1963...my dad’s 21st birthday and a week before my parents’ wedding on November 30th. Was quite a week for them.

I was a young matron in Berkeley, CA with 3 kids under 4 and working in the garden behind my first house. My husband was on his first business trip in NYC attending a seminar. I came in to fix the kids lunch and switched on the TV and the news flashed. JFK hadn’t been pronounced dead yet, and I sat there transfixed. I went to a phone to call my best friend and found that all of the lines were blocked with heavy traffic. I went to church that afternoon to pray and found the church packed with people.

My husband said he came out of his meeting and caught a taxi to visit the UN. He noticed people on the street corners crying and asked the taxi driver about it. The taxi driver gave him the terrible news.

He wasn’t due home until Sunday evening and I watched TV the rest of the time he was gone, witnessing on TV the arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald and his subsequest execution on screen by Jack Ruby. I couldn’t believe it.

When my husband got off the helicopter shuttle service to Berkeley, he brought 2 toy snare drums for the older kids. They immediately started drumming out the rhythm of the dirge they had been hearing over and over on TV as the various processions passed by. Idon’t remember whtever happened to those drums, but I thinkthey came to a quick and bad end at the hands of the parents!

I remember thinking that our whole world had changed and that America had lost her innocence.

I was in 6th grade and the principal's secretary came in and whispered something to the teacher who then turned on her radio. Some of the kids started to cry at the news and our chain smoking, bad wig spinster witch teacher scolded them - saying there's no call for that. We were not JFK fans, but like my Dad said it's the office of the president that was attacked.
We egged her house every Halloween after that until she died. (of old age, not egging)

Almost immediately all painted it as a "Mob" style hit. I still believe that.

IMO,both Castro and the Mob are plausible suspects. It might even be possible that Oswald and Ruby were just two whackjobs.A CIA hit? Yah,sure.

6th grade. I was out of school as I had been sick. However mid day I was out walking in the neighborhood because I had gotten better (heh heh). Some construction worker had a radio and said the Prez had been shot. Headed home in time to see the news on a b&w TV that he had died. Might have seen ruby kill Oswald on live TV.. or might have just seen replay.. Not sure. Usually we went to church sun am but that weekend threw off the routines.

After lots of amateur research I think Oswald did it alone.

I would rather have JFK now than that traitor, liar and incompetent commie Muzzie occupant of the white hut now.

Agree 100%.

If you had added Jimmah and BillyBob to Obola's name I'd agree 1000%.

Kennedy was having an affair with a communist spy.

He was consistently losing to the communists.

The American Press was going to publish the story.

What would have happened to the Democrat Party if Camelot came crashing down?

The Democrats put an end to their own President.

Let’s not forget, the Kennedys were backers of Sen. Joe McCarthy in his anti-communist crusade.

Louisiana State Police had encountered an injured woman in Evageline Parish in the middle of the night several days before the hit. She was intoxic ated and explained that she was with three “hit men” driving from Miami to Dallas and they were going to kill the President. They threw her out onto the highway after drunken partying. The cops put her in the rubber room where she told everyone the same story; nobody believed her. Until Friday November 22 1963. After the hit they discharged her and she bolted. She was found dead on a Texas highway having been run over several weeks later. Her last name is Cheramie, and her first is Rose (?).

No Conspiracy...right?...look it up. It’s there.

I was 6, in first grade. At lunch that day a lady from the office told me to walk home to my grandparent’s house instead of my own home. It was only three blocks away, so no big deal. When I got there the radio was on playing the news, and my mom was in the kitchen crying.

That was the event which turned me from a little kid thinking only of little-kid things, to a more world-aware, outwardly focused child. I was glued to the TV for four days. I paid attention to everything from then on. Still do.

Yeah, you’re right. We need greatness again. I’ve had enough of mediocre to lousy presidents.

It was the Friday before Thanksgiving. I was in the 4th grade, and we were having a "Christmas Sale" in the auditorium. I was buying a decorative dish for my Mom, when suddenly the Principal came in and told us to all go back to our classrooms. We sat down wondering what was going on. The one thing I'll never forget was hearing one of the young teachers outside the hallway - a nun - break down in tears. We all looked at each other; we never thought that nuns cried!

It was then the Principal made the announcement over the PA that President Kennedy was shot and had died. The news of his being shot had occurred shortly before we were sent to our classrooms, and his death must have happened about the time we all sat in our desks.

I don't remember much after that. I think we were sent home.

I was 14 at the time and at the corner of Cedar Springs and Turtle Creek... about five miles north of downtown... to see the President. On the way home, we heard the news.

I was one of the last few thousand to see him alive.

He was the last democrat I would have any regard for... or vote for in the future.
