Quentin Tarantino first met composer Ennio Morricone at the Cannes premiere of âInglourious Basterds.â A longtime fan of Spaghetti Westerns like âThe Good, the Bad and the Ugly,â featuring some of Morriconeâs most iconic work, and âThe Grand Duel,â scored by Morricone contemporary Luis Bacalov, Tarantino used some of the maestroâs work from âThe Battle of Algiers,â âThe Big Gundownâ and âAllonsanfà nâ in the film. I have the title theme from “Once Upon A Time In The West” on my tablet. It’s evocative. It’s friggin’ brilliant!
It is a useful reminder to boycott hateful Tarantino’s movies though, for him going to the black lives matter rally and calling cops murderers.
I was hoping he would pull in Susanna Rigacci on this soundtrack.
I may actually go see it because of what Kurt Russell said in defense of the 2nd Amendment.

I just want to hear the soundtrack and maybe tag along.
Morricone is a musical icon
we used to blast the Good The Bad And The Ugly all over Kent state on loud Speakers on a Sunday afternoon, People would whistle that theme all week.

Morricone did the soundtrack to Days of Heaven.
I have all his stuff on my iPods, which I play through the stereo on my Harley.
Once, at a downtown 4 way stop sign, The Ecstasy of Gold came up on my playlist, as I sat there, with 3 other cars.
The other drivers looked shocked for a second, and then they all started laughing.
Took us about 5 minutes for somebody to make a move and get through the intersection.
Stop sign showdown.
Once in a lifetime thing.
It was epic.
:)
*Really* reminds me of The Ecstasy of Gold.
You a funny girl :)
