An FBI operation into the Black Gangster Disciples, Vice Lords and Sipp Mob street gangs may provide some answers into the 2014 murder of a 19-year-old teen who was burned alive on a rural road in Mississippi.
This week, federal, state and local authorities deployed multiple SWAT teams to arrest nine high profile gang members on multiple charges. In total authorities have been able to get get state or federal indictments against 17 gang members on charges ranging from child endangerment, possession of stolen firearms, narcotics sales, and felon in possession of a firearm to possession of counterfeit currency.

It is what it is, she was a “friend” of the perps, that is a fact. She tried to break away from them, they killed her. Yes it is horrendous what happened but there is a lesson to be learned here.
FReepers often speculate on stories....especially crime scenes....

I haven’t seen any facts that she belonged to a gang...
...that a gang member was her boy friend, etc

This was a run-down community which had only one thing working for it....a drug zone. Money talks and she got into the middle of gang activity and tried to clean herself up....which the gang just didn’t take kindly on the idea of her exiting or knowing as much as she did.

It was big time news here on FR when it was being reported. Yes, she was “dating” some of these guys, she decided to get out and get a job, she was also bragging about what she knew about these guys. They silenced her, that’s evident about the gas being poured down her throat, that was a message. Google it on your own, I am not going to do your homework.
No, but I think we can safely assume a perp with the name “Janicholas” is. Soon it will be a defense that these whacko names prevent the defendants from ever getting a job (or even an interview).

I haven’t found information stating that she was part of a gang per se, so she was likely allowed to be a hanger-on for the purpose of being a play-thing.
My comment, however, was pretty typical of those wanting to leave. When you are part of a gang, you don’t get to leave. The only way out is to get out and disappear. If you say anything, before that point, you can get killed. That’s nothing new.

I suspected when I first read of this that it was probably drug related.
I am not accusing the victim, but it didn’t smell right from the beginning and I don’t know how she was involved. This was not a random act of some pervert, this was a message/warning to someone.
There are two basic options: 1) she is involved directly, or 2) she knew/saw something she shouldn’t have.
There is the Arab/muslim store clerk, the gang-bangers, and other assorted unsavory characters involved in this.
I remember the Muzzie guy. The owner, not clerk of the gas station/convenience store where the girl was last seen. He had posted pictures of himself with weapons and appeared to have some connection to the gangbangers and/or the drug trade in the area.
I think that eastforker’s reply is on right on target.
I recall that the store was not only a muzzie, but a immigrant and at the time claiming to be 18.
