Per The NFL network.
The Steelers defense was a mess going into that game, the entire d-line was second and third stringers. Then they got more injuries during the game. And still almost won.
Another time a Tebow critic said: The Steelers defense was a mess going into that game, the entire d-line was second and third stringers. Then they got more injuries during the game.
Mr. discostu, meet Mr. discostu.
Yes they are. Slow-witted, but inadvertently funny.
Those are not mutually exclusive statements. Notice the first statement says “tends to” which indicates that it is not a universal truth merely a majority trend. And the second statement a specific circumstance, revolving around specific circumstances, especially a team getting a bad injury bug.
Mr Jeffersondem, meet simple logic and English.
I didn't say they were.
Is there any particular reason why you think anyone would conclude that you make contradictory statements to support your deeply-held and ugly prejudices?
There’s nothing prejudice or ugly about reading a stats sheet and saying “gee, that QB stinks”. The real question here is why is so much of your sense of self worth wrapped up in Tebow being a good QB? Really, what does it matter to you, on a personal level? How are you lessened by this simple obvious truth?
“...This goes deeper and he might have a racist tag on his head...”
Eh. “Racist”... That’s the first thing folks throw out when their poor widdle feewings get hurt.
Kelly just expected them to at least TRY to win.
Evidently, that was too much to ask.
I was afraid Chip Kelly was unfit to serve in the NFL after his comments about Tebow at the end of preseason. When Kelly was cut this week I said so again on this site which started some back and forth between me and Big ‘Ol Freeper. Then Stormer wanted some so I schooled him and later Moonman62, Impy, and the appropriately named Freedumb.
I'm not one to coddle conventional politicians, athletes, or people who watch televised sports and then repeat something they have been told to think. And I have the kind of personality that doesn't prevent me from saying so.
ff
Hell I thought Chip was unfit for the NFL when he first showed up. The fast break offense has problems when you’ve got a dramatically smaller roster like the NFL. And frankly him bringing Tebow IN was more proof of that. He started camp with 5 QBs none of them true starting NFL calibre, it was a mess.
Problem is right now YOU’RE the one repeating something you’ve been told to think. There’s that crowd of Christians who desperately seek to be persecuted that have been whining every time Tebow has been criticized since his earliest days in college insisting every time it’s because of his religion refusing to entertain the simple idea that maybe, just maybe, the critics had a point. They insist he’s been blackballed refusing to understand that blackballed players don’t get brought to training camp, teams don’t trade up for them, and don’t trade for them. Blackballed players just go away. Look at Ray Rice, THAT’S how players get blackballed. The judge reinstated him over a year ago, no interviews, no try outs, no training camp. The league has paid as much attention to Rice as they have me... actually that’s not true, they’ve sent me marketing e-mails, so they’ve paid MORE attention to me than Ray Rice. If Tebow was blackballed he’d have gone that path, the league would have acted like they never heard of him. No drafting, no trading, no training camps, no anything.
All I’m pointing to is facts. The facts are Tebow has gotten more chances than ANY QB of similar talent. And he just plain hasn’t been able to cut it. His religion has nothing to do with it. More openly Christian players than Tebow have had fine long careers in the NFL, because they had the talent. Tebow, while a nice guy, simply does not. The facts are in. The stats are available. They paint a clear picture of a guy that cannot cut it in the NFL. And anybody who insists otherwise is parroting what they’ve been told to think. And I have the kind of personality that doesn’t prevent me from saying so.
Now you have identified your real grievance.
I’ve got no grievance. This is again part of YOUR need to be persecuted, that would be the part you edited out.
Face the facts. Tebow is not good, and you’re need to insist he’s blackballed flies in the face of facts and simple reality. All grievances here are on your part, and made up against things that never actually happened.
Your reference to “There's that crowd of Christians” detracts from my confidence in your objectivity.
Your assurances are repudiated by your own words.
Maybe you should bother to read the rest of the sentence. Or the rest of the post. Or a stats page.
Face it, you’ve run out of facts and are now attacking the person. A need for logical fallacies shows knowledge that your position is wrong, even though you’re unwilling to admit it.
“Maybe you should bother to read the rest of the sentence. Or the rest of the post. Or a stats page.”
Speaking of stats, what did you think of Tebow’s in the Steelers’ game?
Already discussed that. Now you’re retreading. So I guess we’re done. You spent two days ignoring the facts and attacking me instead, meanwhile Tebow is still a terrible QB, and is correctly not in the league. No persecution necessary, none occurred. We’re done, you’re wrong, it’s been proven, the only question left is can you admit it. And you’ve answered that too. So bye. Have a great year, understand that Tebow will never play QB again in the NFL. But he’s on ESPN’s SEC broadcast, so you can still worship him.
No. I asked about Tebow’s performance earlier and you wanted to discuss the Steelers’ performance. And to make excuses.
I'm kinda surprised you don't want to talk Tebow’s stats in the game - you always want to tout the stats and the facts - you say :)
I think we both know the real reason you will not discuss Tebow’s stats.
He played like crap in the first half, put a bit together in the second, still finished the game under 50%, got a lot of YAC on the game winning TD in OT. It was a typical Tebow game, he wasn’t very good but thanks to a good defense and an opponent that screwed up (Ben played like crap in the second half) won. Then went on to NE and was crushed. His stats in the Steelers game are bad, 47.6% completion and 316 with a total of 21 passed thrown are frankly crappy stats.
Chuck Knoll needs to be on the list.
