A former Victoria's Secret model who traded in her stilettos for boat shoes has become the first female boat owner to win the prestigious Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.
Kristy Hinze-Clark earned herself a place in the record books on Monday after her yacht Comanche crossed the finish line ahead of the rest of the more than 100 boats that began the prestigious event after a bruising two days crossing the Tasman Sea.
Hinze-Clark, who was born in Australia, launched Comanche in October 2014 with her husband, billionaire Netscape founder Jim Clark.
She also sailed with the entire crew over the entire race across the Tasman Sea which they finished in 2days, 9hours and 58min 30sec.

This is one of the most dangerous races there is.

Old story: old dude marries young wife, tries to interest her in his activities (in this case, sailing). That causes dissention.
He likes one day calm water regattas, she wants to come back and do the S2H again next year.
