"I was just doing some reading about the Mameluk-Ottoman war that started on 24 AUG 1516 with the Ottoman Turks invading Syria which is 500 years to the day for today’s Turks invading Syria again in which I noticed this.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamluk

“The Mamluke Sultanate survived in Egypt until 1517, when Selim captured Cairo on 20 January.”

"20 January happens to be the day that the newly elected POTUS will be inaugurated.

"I’m more convinced now than ever that something is going to happen between 24 AUG 2016 and 20 JAN 2017."

Thank you, Jack Hydrazine.

The fact that Islamists remain so mindful of battle anniversaries should not be an overlooked fact.
Also noted is the fact that the Turks have recently invaded Syria, so soon after making "nice-nice" with the Russians
As recently as a week ago, there was a short FReeper discussion about the possibility of Russians using the same UN military base
where approximately 50 U.S. nuclear missiles are being kept while the facility was surrounded by hostile Turks.

It's kind of ironic how fast 'friends' have become 'foes', and 'foes' have become 'friends', all for the sake of becoming a new world power in that neighborhood.
It's enough to make your head spin !
