Tom Coughlin resigned as New York Giants head coach on Monday as one of 13 coaches in NFL history to win multiple Super Bowls.
He is the seventh coach in NFL history with 100 wins and two Super Bowl victories for a single team, according to Elias Sports Bureau research. The others are Hall of Famers Don Shula, Tom Landry, Chuck Noll and Joe Gibbs, as well as Bill Belichick and Mike Shanahan.

As a Giants fan, I’m sad to see him go, though I understand why it was necessary. Hope he enjoys his well-earned retirement.
A class act and a true Giant!
Always liked Coach Coughlin.
Thought he got a raw deal here in Jacksonville.
Our loss was the Giants’ gain.
I’ve never been a fan of Coughlin.
After reading all of Coach Coughlin’s great accomplishments, I guess it came down to; “What have you done for us lately”. -Tom
So was his reaction when his punter failed to kick away from DeSean Jackson... classic!
My sentiments exactly....
There’s only eleven things wrong the Giants- all on defense!
“I have never been a fan of Coughlin.”
What Patriot fan is? :)
:)
You must be part of the NY sports media. They have been trying to get him fired since the day he was hired. ;~))
It's a brutal town where it's not "what you have done recently", but "what did you do yesterday."
NYC is a great place to visit, IMHO, but I would never want to be a coach or a player in that town.
:) I live in Massachusetts. Coughlin was at one time the head coach at Boston College, my husband’s Alma Mater.
I would LOVE to see Coughlin on the sidelines for the Browns. Sick of one hot shot OC or DL coach suddenly a head coach.
I am a Patriots fan, and I think Coughlin is a damn good coach.
As a sports fan, there are a lot of players and coaches from all sports that I “hate”.
That is, I can scream and yell at them, throw things at the television, make derisive comments about their appearance, facial expressions, you name it. I can “hate” them, because it makes it so much more fun to watch.
But when the game is done...all that doesn’t really count. There are a very, very few players in all sports that (for me, at least) in the light of the next day, I would still count as dirty, rotten, scoundrels.
As a Bruins fan, that would be players like Ulf Samuelsson or Claude Lemieux.
Bottom line, as a fan, if you can’t step back after the game is over and look at it dispassionately, it can’t be a good thing for you.
NYC is a great place to visit, IMHO, but I would never want to be a coach or a player in that town.
Classic. Painful as heck to see again, but classic.
Not to mention the coaches who had similar numbers before the NFL championship was called "Super Bowl."
