The $83 million Skyacht One private jet is basically a luxurious superyacht that can fly

This is so cool. The pics are awesome.

Yachts and private jets — two billionaire tastes that go great together?

That's the bet SottoStudios is making with its new Skyacht One design. The concept design takes an Embrarer Lineage 1000E private jet and infuses it with a ton of yacht-style luxury, creating what the studio is calling "a yacht that can fly."

The concept will cost you $83 million to build — a $30 million increase from a standard 1000, according to AviationWeek.

Only $83 million? Bah, just another flying McMansion.

This is a flying yacht, a Boeing 747:

Isn’t that one owned by Saudi Prince Alwaheed (sp)?

A cool toy, but my house has double the cubit feet for less than $300,000, and comes with a 1000 square foot wood shop, a yard, lots of love and no house payment. Absolutely content.

I’d say Skyacht One’s profit on this is in the millions.

That is also chump change compared to some of the Super Yachts and Mega Yachts.

Getting so tired of this nonsense BS marketing. I guess it’s for the idiot rich that only read names/headlines.

IF it could land on water and pull into any harbor, THEN you’d have something very interesting, Be able to travel to places without using airports and emergency land anywhere.

Otherwise this is just a luxury jet

I think Trump probably got a better deal converting a 757.

In the absence of Kenny Bunk please allow me to add that that is the most atrocious Chinatown discount-store lower-lower middle class “nearly nautical” themed glade-scented utterly un-yar and seamanlike display of crass clashes in palettes of visibly three-scandinavian-slums-below-Ikea-grade undeserving of a frayed macrame owl crap I could ever have imagined.

Yeah, but once the kids track mud in from their beach trip to go clamming, all you’ve got is a tramp steamer.

Looks like the owner of this one (at the link) is a drunk. Every picture features a bootle of booze.

In my old days of aircraft engineering Vijay Mallya was one of our customers. He knows how to travel in style with his own Airbus...

You would not believe how much effort and money it takes to put cable TV and internet in a private jet.

The really serious Yachts have to have an auxiliary Yacht just to carry around the personal water craft, the submarine and then helicopters.

Well, the current trend for Super and Mega yachts is for them to have integrated helipads. Some also carry luxury launches in recessed storage bays.

You can get a used 727 from $500,000 - $3,000,000. and spend about $1,000,000 fitting it out and another $100,000 painting it and have a hell of a nice plane at less than $5,000,000. With a $250,000 tip refit you can get costs of operation down.
