I would hand it right back to the government to get this debt thing down...

Barack Hussein Obama has no military training whatsoever - even as being CinC. Barack Hussein Obama has no published official transcripts, papers, tests, quizzes or even a poem from his time, supposedly at THREE different US colleges and Universities.

I don’t wanna hear a damn thing about Trump’s prior education and/or military training.

I don’t get it. people will go out and buy tickets for 1.3 billion, but not so much at 500 or 800 million?

oh well.

great of the government to take advantage of people’s weaknesses to get more tax dollars.

5 or ten bucks is no biggie if you can spare, but a lot of welfare money and SS goes towards it.

I saw three illegals in a deli here the other day buying TWENTY FIVE dollar scratch offs lol.

Welcome to America!!

Is it weird to say this makes me somewhat reluctant to buy one? The words “be careful what you wish for, you might just get it” come to mind. I’ve always wanted to be comfortable, not drowning in wealth.

I maintain they would increase sales further if they said: it is one billion, we’ll draw fifty winning sets of numbers. Twenty million less taxes per winner.

And yes I’ll probably buy a ticket.

Reporter said you have a better chance of being attacked by a shark AND being struck by lightning at the same time!

Since I live here in Florida I guess my odds of that are a bit higher so I bought 10 tickets. I hit 4 of the numbers but, darn it, none of them were on the same pick!

This game is a rip-off. Play the lower-odds games in your state.

For every two dollars in, you’ll average one dollar back.

Not unprecedented just merely another govt scam...maybe they are thinking it is maybe the “last time” they can pull one of these after...the crash no one but the 1% will have anything to throw away on gambling. Lets see...they only pay out 50% of what they take in...and they the 4 or 5 that get any real money they tax 50% on the front end before they get any of the winnings...bet the mafia would like in on that!

No way they aren’t picking the “winning” based on a foreknowledge of the numbers already given out...no way...this is our govt...remember the grassy knoll...Lee Harvey Oswald (got to have a kinda slow, loner white guy with two word first name do it)

When someone wins this, it will be a good time to preach on the subject of envy.

really...without foreknowledge of the numbers assigned or chosen week to week on going...what are the real odds that a totally random system keeps picking the “unpicked” numbers...or just how gullible are the ones still buying...say pretty low on first one and pretty high on second...ever heard of loaded balls???

Out of curiosity I have this question. OK, all taxes are taken out before the final sum is given to the winner. The question then is: if the winner gives any substantial amount to another individual does that person have to pay taxes again on that money? Not that it matter but I was wunderin’.

Don’t know if I’d call it unprecedented. Maybe “manipulated” would be the right word.

I'll admit that I paid my "stupid tax" the other night.

when they changed the odds of matching all the Powerball numbers, from about one in 175 million to one in 292.2 million

The reason I call it "the stupid tax" is obvious, but the proof is how they advertised the change in odds. By nearly cutting the odds in half by adding additional numbered balls, they proclaimed that "Now you have more ways to win!"

The leftists, who happily collect the money from lotteries, claim this is a "tax on the poor." But it's really not. It's a tax on the ignorant. Sure, "someone has to win," but you never hear about the fact that when organized crime ran these sorts of things, at least they were honest when someone wins. For instance, if you win the big prizes with PowerBall, you only receive the full amount promised if you agree to collect the prize over 3 decades. If you want the money now, the government takes a percentage right off the top. Then you're subject to taxes as well.

Mark

How do you put $1.3 billion on a Powerball billboard that only goes up to $999 million?

I would give some money to here on FR and my church, as well as get my dad a new truck and my grandmother care I would further my education after I get my masters degree And I would also save a lot of it and the rest I would waste on books, guns, trips, and various types of art.
